  • I have an 'Alert' on my Jobmatch account which says you have taken no action on matches in the past 5 days. When you have completed the required action the alert will be deleted.

Just had one of those myself - told me to check my email. I've checked my email, and also my Spam folder. Nothing has been sent at all. No matches on my account either....guessing it's a glitch as it has now disappeared.

I've allowed them access for now - but have reserved my right to remove it at any point.

50 pages in, and nobody seems able to justify, or explain, UC, or GG yet..

Government Gateway is a website that anyone that needs social uses has to log into via a computer, rather than a form. To look for jobs.

Universal Credit is applied to anyone that needs to apply for anything on a social base, housing benefit, child care, council tax, anything that the council provides.

So throw all that in a mixer...You get - Universal Credit, via DSS...

So anyone that has any social need to their council, child care, day care, health care, social care, dss, housing benefit, remote payment of bills, but NOT Council tax benefit, that has been split by the local authorities, strategically, underground, as they know that the unemployed are unable/unwilling/unwitting to pay that - they know their rights, and will stand for them.

So presumably, less than 5 people have been entered into this system; 16/18-21, living at care, no dependants; WHAT A JOKE!

Let's face it, the government is hell bent on getting everyone off JSA, and the UJM site is just a tool they are using to give out sanctions left right and centre.

We already know that the drones in the jobcentre and "providers" are rewarded for getting us off,and punished for NOT meeting their targets on sanctions.

I think everyone should just realise that sooner or later they will find a way to sign us all off.

I learned at my course today that Universal JobMatch will become mandatory. In order to continue receiving your Universal Credit you will have to do 30 hours of job search each week.

Or was the advisor talking rubbish?

this is a rumour that has been around for a while. the flaws are not everyone is able to go online and how can they police 30 hours jobsearch.
my dodgy work programme adviser has tried to tell me it is mandatory now to register on uj.

No, this is what used to be called the "Flexible New Deal" and was run by A4e and other workfare parasites.

Basically, you are locked up in a "programme centre" for 30 hours a week, the only escape is to find a "placement" for yourself at an approved charity, again for 30 hours.

After a few hours in the programme centre, you will soon see why people opt for the placements!

I done this course FOUR TIMES!

A lot of people were told that UJM was mandatory, at some point, this will have to be challenged in a court of law, but I feel sure it breeches all sorts of laws and basic rights.

Unfortunately, the sort of people this affects aren't the sort of people with the resources/knowledge to take the government on.

and these unscrupulous people know you would rather just go along with it than resist and face fighting a sanction even if you have a good chance of winning.
is there anything to stop people registering and then canceling their account later after they have satisfied their adviser?
personally i dont have an issue with being registered on a site that matches me to jobs and records what i have done. what i dont want is it being used as a tool to sanction me. i also dont want annoyances like being sent tons of emails. i have heard of that happening to people.

All we can do is keep resisting, and hope some people with the skills/money needed take the cause up.

The fact you have been on the course 4 times and still not found a job says a lot. ..if you out as much effort into your job searching as you do spouting nonsense on here you would be a ceo by now
