I seriously dont see how they can expect 35hrs of job searching. If you read all the local papers each week, search online several times a day on several different sites, that is not going to take you 35 hrs to do.0

If you wait till the end of the day it once took me 4 hours to look at every job added that day on Totlajobs. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The availability of computers will be interesting but they are also supplying "access devices" for some. Should be fun (but not for the job seekers!).
i think you have got it wrong i think you must be willing to apply for anything. i dont think they expect you to see and apply for every job that gets advertised.0 -

The Jobcentre is not going to accept you just saying - yes guv, this week I did exactly 35 hours searching - without anything to solidly back it up (or haven't you had to deal with the Jobcentre muppets yet?)0

35 hours??? Really this is not necessary. I kinda feel sorry for the employers who must be inundated with inappropriate applicants who have to go through these motions. (I was fortunate to get an interview and was told there was 500+ applicants) Job seekers expected to apply for any and all jobs. What happened to common sense? And job center staff under so much pressure to get people off the dole. Crazy.0

Here's a link to a specimen Universal Credit agreement from the DWP. It's all in there: http://data.parliament.uk/DepositedPapers/Files/DEP2013-0285/AWRJoanneBrownAnnex1.docm
This only happens though when you switch to Universal Credit which is some time away yet for most of us.0 -
As it is, I have signed up to their new job match, but expressed my preference to the previous site to my personal adviser, and gave valid reasons...
But you do know that Jobmatch is not mandatory don't you?
"As a result of legal challenges and negative press attention, DWP have revised the guidance on UJ to make it clear that this cannot be done. The UJ Jobmatch toolkit chapter 3, paragraph 50, states: “You cannot issue a Jobseeker’s Direction to either require a claimant to create a profile and CV in Universal Jobmatch or to mandate a claimant to give us access to their account – this is their decision not ours.”

It won't work for jobseekers, won't work for JC advisors, won't work for employers.
Jobseekers would go mad sitting on internet all day every day, searching job sites, endlessly clicking their mouse, going cross eyed reading job specs, churning out applications, many unsuitable to show activity to jobcentre.
It's not good for their health, not good for their morale, not good for employers.0
