I'd calm down.
It will be as big a problem for JC advisors as the customers/jobseekers and the unions won't stand for it, just like with UJM, lots of hot air before the crazy draconian big brother ideas gradually melt away.
I'm perfectly calm thank you. :rotfl:
But I see we have a dreamer in the house who still believes the unions have any power...poor deluded chap.
Is that the UJ that is to be made mandatory this year (1st March if rumours are to be believed)?0 -

You are really talking a load of cr!p. you dont know anything. You are just another scaremonger.
None of what you said will happen. Look when you all said that UJM would be mandatory. Even IDS said it would be, but it hasnt happened and we are nearly into March.0 -

IDS said that months ago.
But unions have issued guidance to staff to stop managers pressurising JC advisors into saying UJM was mandatory before, that people should give access and other lies etc.
And again when other crazy ideas come in like 35 hour job search, unions will step in to stop advisors being asked to do an impossible task.0 -
Jerry_Mander wrote: »They don't have to check up on you directly, you just have to prove that you're doing 35 hours of job related activity each week. But they will insist on proof of that amount of job search and if you don't give them access to, for example, Universal Jobmatch ( I wouldn't) then you'll have to take in sheets of printouts etc. showing jobs applied for and so on.
I haven't read all this thread, but is that really right? 35 hours a week? Personally I already think the JSA agreement I was pressurized into signing was unrealistic and now it sounds like things are getting really crazy. As it is, I have signed up to their new job match, but expressed my preference to the previous site to my personal adviser, and gave valid reasons, (by the look on his face, I think I was not the first person to air my grievances). Meantime I play by their rules because they put money into my bank account and at the end of the day it all boils down to money to pay the bills. On a lighter note, I would like to mention that I think my adviser is a great down to earth guy and really helpful. He has got me on the latest course to give me tips and advice. (Didn't want to sound ungrateful, but didn't think I needed to go). Anyway it's only for a week and if I keep my receipts I get reimbursed and hey I may actually learn something..... still reeling over 35 hours a week?? No. It can't be right? Can it?0
