This is true. Advisers can only contact employers you have contacted if you have given them permission to do so.0 -

all of what you listed cant be proven really. so it will just be recorded on a sheet like now. they cant really expand on what they do with people now because it would mean spending more time with people and recruiting alot more staff. they are not going to do that. they may be stupid enough to attempt to at first.
As i think i stated my JSA Agreement was "updated" on the day i was banned. its supposed to be done every 6months, but mine hadnt been for almost 2years.
I was told by the Manager Andy brown i'm on minimum requirements. hence the reason i posted what i did.
Now if its going to change in a couple of weeks i guess HE erm UP, didnt know which word to put there, theres so many.
in response to CS007When I queried this, there was no direct answer to 'why has it changed and what justifies the new figure'; just some whitewash about a growing job market, and if I did not demonstrate X applications per week, 'they' would have a look and suggest some things I COULD apply for...
Just think about the lies they have even put on tv, when they talk about the number of 18-25 years old unemployed, and then announced the number of total unemployed, both of which were 3.5million, so i guess 26-75years olds count as 0 unemployed then.
considering I'm one of the 26-75 Cant figure that out.
I know everyone whos on the so called work program are counted as working.. the same as those not signing but who are unemployed due to for instance being sanctioned for 6months or longer.0 -
When Universal Credit comes in (April in trial areas and October more widely) part of the UC contract that you have to sign to get your benefits says you have to apply for any job that pays minimum wage and is within 90 minutes travel time (one way).
That should open up the number of jobs anyone can apply for considerably and would probably easily fill up 35 hours per week (i.e. the full time job search requirement) just sat at a PC (which are now being installed in libraries and council offices for those who can't access one in any other way).
I'm dreading it (which, of course, is the whole idea as it will drive many to come off benefits).0 -

Ever since this started my advisor has thrown all sorts of jobs at me taht are completely out of my skill set. I have applied for them all as I don't want to upset them but what if I get a call about an interview for one of these advisor recommended jobs? If they call and I tell the job that I am not accepting an interview as it really is not my skillset will I get in trouble with the Jobcentre? I mean I guess they would have to check up on that PARTICULAR job but if they did and they found out taht I had not gone to an interview is taht an immediate sanction and how long would that be?0

My advice is if they (the Jobcentre) give you a job to apply for, however unsuitable it is, is to apply for it. Most likely the employer will see that you're not suitable right away and won't even offer you the position, but it's always better to cover you behind when the jobcentre is concerned. Any chance they get they will try to pin a sanction on you - it's the culture now. I believe for a first offence in your case would be a 4 week sanction.

with computers in libraries you are often limited to 1 hour. they are always very busy. if they require all the unemployed in the area to use them all day there will be a queue down the road. most wont get on one.0
