how do you work that one out? 35 job search is just that, a job search. Obviously if you get an interview you are allowed to go on it so you are looking for work and that qualifies you surely.
What do you do now? Job searching? You have to be available for them to contact 35 hours a week, its the same thing.0 -

The job site is an improvement over the crappy diary.
I have to apply for 14 jobs per 2 weeks so 1 job a day. I send my CV to a job that's advertised, I then log onto my job match account and put 'CV sent (link to job advertisement)'. This creates almost 100% verifiable evidence that I am looking for work and it stops people at the job centre harassing me.0 -

You can not just use the UJM for looking for work.
There is no proof anyone is applying for anything at all unless they the JC log into to your account say like on www.reed.co.uk and look at all your applications for proof.
Its the same as writing the diary - they do not check it and do not have the time to.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How does it when other jobs may not be from the UJM?

It's much more verifiable than a job diary. If I wasn't adding links directly to say gumtree, and instead put 'sent cv to warehouse job' they could start asking questions. This way they know exactly where I say I applied and it looks better. The average intelligence of the people working there isn't high, they start seeing links all over the place it puts them off interrogating you.
There's also the function of applying directly through the website to a job if the employer has linked their advert to their email, if this shows up on your page they know you applied.
Now this is in stage 2, I know in stage 3 it gets more 'you must do this' at which stage I'll quit after saving enough money to last 6 months then my account will reset and it restarts the cycle.0 -

I have never been interogated in fact I have been told not to list all the jobs I do as its far too much!
You are ONLY talking about jobs on UJM though - if you apply via another site there is NO proof on a diary online or written that you have applied unless they are going to check and they do not. We’ve had to remove your signature. I've never written anything more than 'applied at such and such, no vacancies' in the paper diary and was never told I had to do more. But it's dodgy if they continue seeing that and they can flick through your diary at any point and try and question you in which case you better have an answer.
Likewise, I applied for 14 jobs and the woman seemed shocked even though a few weeks earlier she said apply for 7 jobs a week. I think she meant the '7 efforts to look for work' rather than apply but I'm managing to find 14 jobs just about. But sending your the cv is easier than writing up some malarkey like 'looked in friday ad - no suitable jobs' then having to deal with questions or the chance my 'adviser' has seen the friday ad paper and knows it's BS.0
