you got me on that one. I'm assuming people who do voluntary work will have to do less jobsearch, but technically they have to prove they can drop the voluntary work if offered a proper job.
but if they are still requested to do 35hrs job search aswell then it will be a case of no volunteers for those unpaid jobs.
maybe it will be a case per person, like asking them how many hours a week do they do and then for instance if they reply 16hrs voluntary then it would be a case of 20hrs jobsearch.
All i know if I can see how this is going to turn out. simple case of government cutbacks, whats the quickest way to get as many people "out of unemployment", to stop paying them benefits, simple answer sanction them, how, make a new system see above, make it buggy and unreliable, tell the "customer" to use it as the work logs are going to be stopped and proof will need to be online of course remember to take your ID and password everyweek.
Then you give them the info, they type it in wrong, and hey hoo, their locked out so you cant prove it. no proof = sanction. They then tell you to create a new account, and next time they type it in correctly, after all to many typos for someone working in a office enviroment, "customer" will probably be randomly selected, but most probably the easy targets. Those living at home with parents. Long termed unemployed.
Of course anyone who works for them that comes on here will probably say that I'm completely wrong and that WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
When it comes to the jobcentreplus I trusted my gut feelings when they open their mouths and sprout new conditions.
I noticed 2 new dell computers in the jobcentre when I was there last, not yet turned on, but will be used for online jobsearching, I asked the security guard before i was seen and the "hit the fan".
Did you like the joke donna, 2nd paragraph from the ban letter and the screw up on the info sent today, and they say I'm acting like a 10year old.
so fact if i had DONE what was sent to me today which was THEIR error, i would be saying hi to a copper if I turned up at the jobcentre on tuesday.
Now i just have to figure the best way to get to portsmouth. by car or by train, that is the question.
How long will i be in there for. over 1 hr its going to cost in car parking.
saying that, by car it will take 20minutes to get there, park in pay and display £1 for an hour, matalan or 45min-1hr by bus, or 20min to train station, 15min by train. unknown cost havent taken a train in 2years.0 -

Well Donna that was before I was told about the new 35hr jobsearch, I believe they are to be used through the day for people without access to their own internet. But not all day. more like an hour or 2. But doesnt really matter, as they will probably be told to do it at the work programs place. A4E for instance has about 10 computers, but they are limited there aswell.
WOW 5555tt is that the 1 click apply for job on the UJM screen ? cause if it is that doesnt actually apply for the job, it should load up a screen to give you information like contact info to apply for the job. As i said its buggy. But as i still cant log in I cant take a better look.0 -

donnajunkie wrote: »so people may get a few hours at best on a computer each week. i guess they are going to have to say they looked at the newspapers for 8 hours a day for the rest of the time. most wont ever get on those computers in the jobcentre. so they wont be able to record what they do on the website. at mine they have 2 phones and just before xmas i queued up to use them. i was there for over 3 hours and there was less than 10 people in front of me.We’ve had to remove your signature. you can not go into my WP unless you have an appt and they have only about 25 pc's all that seem to be from the 80's and you have to have an appt to be on one and ONLY for an hour as the next set or people are booked in on them and its not all job search but 1 hr courses and CV writing etc
My understanding is that when Universal Credit comes in, many things about UJ will 'fall into place' and make sense. We'll see. Maybe it will record how much time you have actually spent on the site? Or maybe there will be places you have to attend 7 hours a day to do your jobsearch? Who knows?Fokking Fokk!0 -

They can not seriously think anyone would need to spend more than 5 mins in the UJM site as its !!!!!We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

On some there is no contact info so clicking the 'apply' button gives you the chance to send your cv. It's not really a proper application (how can it be without a cover note) but it helps when it comes to ticking the boxes and having it recorded as an 'activity'.0 -

If you want to trap people on a single website or in centres endlessly mouse clicking, searching the internet to show "activity", submitting masses of applications which have no chance of success, shows how stupid they are.
Quality, not quantity, is what counts.
The best thing DWP & Jobcentres can do, is listen to the customers/jobseekers & resist this stupid flawed Tory ideology.
