Can anyone tell me, is the new website so we dont have to fill the paper forms out, as out page tells them what we've done and what we've applied for? Or do we have to fill the job book out also?
Do what you're doing as normal until JC say otherwise.

Yes, you won't have to fill in book if JC have access to your online jobsearch, but confirm with your advisor, as website & new system has only just started.

If you're happy to give access to JC to your UJM account so you don't have to fill in book, then do that, but remember JC will be able to see everything you're doing online & be able to submit messages & vacancies to you online at any time, which could trigger sanction if you don't reply or apply.

true but do you think they will just be happy with a refusal! they go to all this trouble and accept no for an answer! I don't think so.

I have just managed to get registered but most jobs I viewed do not have info on how to apply, there is a contact number but I doubt they want people to use that? or do they?

You're not giving a refusal, you're giving them permission, it's up to you, it's your choice.

It's your account, your private data & private online activity.

You don't need to discuss, explain or justify, it's your choice.

But you need to play it smart as you know what advisors can be like.

It's up to each person how they deal with it, dealing with one on one situations.

I agree but you said it all this "But you need to play it smart as you know what advisors can be like."

If they're pushy, it's how you say it to them, how you discuss it, you've decided not to, you're considering it, without upping the ante & getting their backs up.

Each advisor, jobseeker & one on one situation is different.

I have never seen that many at the Peterborough one that early in the morning
When I went passed, They just disembarked from two minibus and were
    trooping through the door.

When I had the misfortune to have to visit the Cambridge JC last year, I counted four at the door, two by the phones, another six along the walls behind the desks plus two guarding the cash office. Also one guarding the stairs.

Hmmm very strange. I know they will have teams not to just stand at the door part for the public but also in the staff reception and also security for staff in the staff part of the building.

    Morning all.

Just to let you know i signed on this morning and they tried to coerce me into signing up for universal jobmatch and even sighted my jobseekers agreement because its part of that to use direct.gov site so many times a week, I pointed out its still possible to use it and apply without signing up and when i asked for proof in writing that it was mandatory for me they backed right off! How long before the job seekers agreement becomes a demand?

Dont fall for it people your rights are yours so look after them! :)

I just signed on today as well and she thanked me for allowing them to access my account, you could tell she didn't mean it and was told to say it, I also had to fill out a customer service questionaire whilst sitting in front of her  these people have no shame.

Did they ask or tell you sign-up to UJM, did they ask you to give access to account ?
