signed on today at Jctr and told about job match system and given leaflet. Am looking for work but just dont feel comfortable uploading my CV with all personal details for all to view. My computer not working and have to go to library to use internet and job searches. Worry also that if do have to register for this I could miss an e-mail alert as I go to the library 3 times a week to search for work and this costs me £4.60 each time and I could not afford more as on JSA.

Is it compulsory to have to sign up for this. Have only just come of ESA and very anxious ablout loads of stuff.

I agree, the unions would never stand for it. But I do believe that they will carry on closing the smaller Job-Centres, Leaving just the big town and city ones open, They do require that job-seekers travel for up to two hours on public transport each way to get to the Job-Centre.
i dont think that is the reason. their aim is to inconvenience and annoy jobseekers. not having to go to the jobcentre anymore would be doing them a favour. that is why they wont stop requiring them to go to the jobcentre to sign.

I'm really stuggling with this new system of searching. I've not managed to search properly like I was able to do before and i'm poo-ing myself as i've not met my quota for applying/searching. I've only applied for one job. There may be tears tomorrow at the JC begging them not to sanction me. Luckily it's with my own advisor...

I can't even get the darned thing to acknowledge I exist!
    I have my gateway number
    I have a password
it tells me to verify my email address
I don't receive the verification emither
I tell it to send me the verification emither
it says you need to verify your email address
<and round and round we go>
I told the Job Centre bloke and he just gave me the leaflet and sighed. Said there's bound to be teething problems and I should try to access it every week until [STRIKE]I get bored[/STRIKE] can log in properly.:rotfl:

Checked your spam folder? That's most likely where it'll end up.. Fitting place though if you ask me.

    Jen

    Please DON'T PANIC

JCP staff are still getting to grips with UJM as much as you. You can still use other web sites as well. Your jobseeking does not have to wholly via UJM. I recommend indeed - just now you can't see JCP vacs as UJM has blocked them
So long as you write down you've applied for some jobs, say 3 a week then the JCP staff have to accept this and there should be no question about not getting JSA.
Write down the job title, the name of the agency or employer, the date you applied, where the job was advertsied and how you applied.

Just to clarify other posts - you do not have to give JCP staff access to your a/c and if you do you can withdraw permission at any time.
Currently threats to JSA regarding UJM is all hot air until Decision Makers have tested the legality of any sanction request.

Not sure if this has been posted in this thread but seems Taunton JC is saying it is compulsory
