Amex Foursquare promotion

Is there an 'idiots guide' to this Amex Foursquare stuff anywhere?

I've loaded the app on my iphone, loaded the card onto my account (using my laptop to access the Foursquare account) and the card details never showed on the app on my phone... called customer services at Amex and they recommended unsyncing and then re-syncing card and waiting for 48hrs for card to appear on app... does this sound right?

The card never 'appears' on the app. What do you mean exactly?

If i knew what I meant then I wouldn't need an idiot's guide! ;)

I've registered an account and have entered my Amex card details.

I've had the 'your card is synced, now start spending' email from Amex.

I've downloaded the app to my iphone and it shows my name etc but no linked card details.

So, I guess I need to know if that is normal and how do I know that the card is synced and ready to go... I don't want to have my spending spree in Debenhams if I'm not going to get my cashback.

AND... basically, for this idiot... how do I check in etc to get the Debenhams offer? Please, I'm not kidding, I really do need a step by step guide.

Unsyncing and then re-syncing card is like a PC reboot.

So... as long as I have had the Amex email confirming the card is synched then I am good to go and spend?

I then trot to local Debenhams, check in using the app on my phone, spend £50 - are gift cards OK? - and then that's it?
