Does anybody know if you can use the offers for online purchases?
I am able to check in at a retailer remotely (without being there) so can I use the retailers online website to make purchases and get the relevant offer?
Are offers only valid once per card?
    Thanks

    no, in store only
  • You can use gift cards for places like Debenhams or Marks online now but that involves you going to the shop first to buy to get the Fouresqaured offers:)
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales

Mmm - just tried applying for the Amex Gold Card and my application has been deferred - anybody else have this who went on to be approved?

We match all the criteria but I think that moving job last year and bank this year has thrown a spanner in the works as my credit file is otherwise squeaky clean.
  • Not sure why you posted twice but most Amex card applications get deferred. All 3 of mine did and I was accepted for all of them.

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help.

I bought a £50 giftcard in Debenhams on Saturday. As far as I'm aware I correctly synced my platinum card to my foursquare account and then checked in at the location, and selected "load to card" before making the purchase. Should I receive a notification from American Express when I made the purchase? The only notification I received was from AE saying "your card is synced". So far there is no credit to my AE account. I wanted to know whether this worked before buying another giftcard with my MBNA. Should I contact AE? Anyone have an email address/number on which to contact them?

Or should I just have more patience...?? :D

    Thanks in advance.

    This :p.

You'll only receive a notification via Foursquare but this doesn't always come through, and the cashback can technically take up to 2 billing cycles to appear so it's worthless contacting them before this.

Just use your MBNA and don't worry about it.

I'd give it more patience. The credits are taking longer than they used to is all.

Wait at least 2 days (and I would wait 4 personally) after the transaction appears on your statement

Look at foursquare app notifications too. You don't get an email notification
  • Wait between 48-72hrs before any contact.
