Hmm interesting, thanks Joe. I don't get anything from Amex, maybe because my card is BMI/ MBNA/ Amex (don't know which does what to be honest!).

Is there an email to sign up to for the Forsquare updates?
I have 2 Plats, OH is second holder on my A/c, also have 2 MBNA amex, but they are just 1 number, so can only register, and use 1. so IF mbna are doing it, as they did with shopsmall, that means I can use 3 cards. Foursquare is more complicated than Shopsmall;;It looks easy, but it,s confusing me, ( aint hard).
I haven,t had E-mail from MBNA yet, did with Shopsmall. So, presume, it,s just Amex only at present????I have just signed up for Foursquare, new user, had e-mail asking which phone to download APP to, (daughters), from there, I,m lost.sorry

joe134 - I just downloaded the Foursquare app this morning having seen the offer on MSE. For me (reasonably tech savvy) the app seems fairly straightforward, download it to your smart phone, sync your Amex card to it then just "Check in" using the app whenever you get to a place that has an offer.
    Current offers available as follows:
£15 credit when you spend £50 at Shell service stations - be awar that this is only available at a small percentage of Shell outlets, so make sure you check before you travel (the app tells you which ones are doing the offer).
£5 credit when you spend £10 at Starbucks - looks like this is more widely available.
£15 credit when you spend £30 at Pizza Hut.
Haven't actually tried using the app yet, so I may yet be proven wrong (about it looking easy enough to use). Will be trying the Shell offer next weekend.
    Mortgage 1 Oct 11 - £118k @ 1.29%(BR+0.79) July 14 £118k
    Mortgage 2 Oct 11 - £17k @ 3.19%(BR+2.69) July 14 £3k (£0 after offsetting)
    Mortgage total Oct 11 - £135k July 14 £121k (£118k)
    Reg Savers (6%) - July 14 £5.1k
    ISAs - £0.6k
    Santander 123 Acc (3%) - £5k

Yes it's happened to me at EAT way back when this Amex/Foursquare offer was announced I used it as a 'tester' as it was £5 credit for £5 spend, and recently at Tesco for £10 credit on £50 spend.

Both times the credit to my card happened approx. 2-5 working days after the transaction despite there being no notifications.

All the other times I have checked in I have had notifications and they have also paid fine.

I would say to not worry about it, but keep the receipts just in case, Amex seem pretty good at solving any problems anyway.

Thanks for this. I do get the Foursquare promotions, I just don't get the emails advising me of them. I've had the Harvey Nicks and Shell ones recently. When I get in touch about my card it's to MBNA, but will check and see where I can sign up to receive emails on offers. Thanks again.

Hi jimmy, thanks. I,m pretty techb savvy pc, but no time for phones, hence using my daughter, as OH and her go shopping together, so daughter will be using app, not me, but I need to know, to tell her????????
I will do as you say.does the app only need downloading once, ?Can both cards be synced to 1 app?
I,ve signed up to 4square, but not downloaded app yet;;;do you sign up twice? for , both amex cards ;IE. wifes name A/c?
probably daft questions , but seems to be a lo of people having bother, and I wont be at shop.

I,m expecting mbna to send me e-mail with same offer, if I get it, I,l post it, so mbna users know it,s on with them .as well.
    edit;;just checked my mbna offers,via a/c; none available at present;

I had a hell of a bother with Amex, on this thread at start, but he apologised, and compensated me. Shopsmall offer He . Accused me of abusing it;(as if) he didn,t know himself the promo rules.
niether did the shopholders, but I made a killing in a week.
