The location is irrelevant really. You don't have to actually be in the shop to check in or to load the offer to the card. Being there just makes it more convenient as you have GPS and you can search for shops near you.
Re. foursquare, you need one foursquare account per card and each account must have a unique email address (use your email as your foursquare login and you can't go wrong)
God knows what,s happening;;;;;Amex says it,s ok, now I,m unsure. Test run only way to find out I suppose.
PS Why would I want to log in, besides seeing what offers are on, and get them from amex?0 -
Look at this another way, I know for a fact that this setup works:
2 cards (same Amex statement but different card numbers)
2 email addresses (mine and the wife's)
2 foursquare accounts (one for each email address, username set to email address)
foursquare account 1 -> my email address -> synced to my Amex card
foursquare account 2 -> wife's email address 2 -> synced to wife's Amex card
You might be able to set it up another way but I have used this successfully and I regularly double up on cashback using only my iPhone and switching the phone app's foursquare accounts to load the offer onto both cards (load, sign out, sign in as wife, load again)0 -

i only have a very basic phone
To my knowledge, you need a phone that supports the foursquare application because you need the app to load offers to your card0 -

He just said, it would be ok, but somehow,, I doubt it, I think, every time I use both cards, I will be on the phone to Amex;
There,s nothing I can do now, besides unsync OH,s card, and start again? which he said wasnt nesescary.0 -
Not sure what the problem is? Like you say, unsync your other card and start again. Job done.
Are you typing on your phone or something? What's with all the double comma's and lack of apostrophes? Makes deciphering what you're actually saying very difficult.| Amex & Foursquare Hoarder |Cashback & Points (26/02/13)

I agree, but when I phoned Amex an hour ago, although I have set up a seperate e-mail for OH with FS, the card is not synced to it. I don,t know why he didn,t unsync OH,s, from my aol, and resync it to second g-mail?

Well, i don't want to give you the wrong advice, but if I were in your shoes, I would ignore this guy and copy a model like the one I posted above. If that means un-synching and re-synching then go for it.
It's immediately testable because you can just try to load a random offer to the two cards when you're setup0 -

As has been said you need a phone that makes the Foursquare app available, so any phone that runs iOS, Android and Windows 8.
You can get a very basic Android phone for £29.99 so it's worth buying one if you think you'll make use of quite a lot of the offers or you have multiple cards.| Amex & Foursquare Hoarder |Cashback & Points (26/02/13)

I think unsyncing may be the way. Mine is no problem, as I have e-mail telling me my card is synced, it,s the OH,s.
As I have set up a FS a/c for her using my Gmail, I don,t think I can just unsync hers, without doing them both, from my AOL.
Cannot understand why it didn,t refuse to sync OH,s, with same E-mail.
I had a to do with Amex over Shopsmall, but got refund + £7.50 for phonecall, he didn,t know what he was talking about either.10ppm
Don,t fancy phoning them every time I transact. The App is already on my daughters phone, using just the one App, she goes with OH shopping.
I will look at how to unsync.? OOPS, wrong reply, that,s me for you
EDIT: Just E-mailed Amex to see how to unsync OH, from my E-mail, without unsyncing both, Awaiting reply.:beer:0 -
Why does it matter if you unsync both? You can just re-sync both and start again.
If I were you I'd stop contacting Amex and just follow the advice here.
