  • we recently changed from talk talk and wanted 1bill instead of several. we signed up for sky tv, movies sport and broadband, and telephone. our tv was connected on the appropriate day but our broadband was not! as my husband has lots of work via the internet we were "upset" to say the least. several calls to sky (abroad) with no resolution... we asked to be put through to disconnections. we had two seperate engineer visits and informed that all equipment was perfect.after yet another lenghtly conversation we were assured that our complete package would be up and running within 24hrs. sky came to the conclusion (after threats of leaving) that we were due compensation!!!!! £30 a month OFF our price for 12months. so if your NOT HAPPY complain. good luck

He clearly tells you on line 17 "it is based in India and Uk".

Best of luck in your search. I believe plusnet is purely uk based.

A constructive comment at last. Thanks!

I have to say that I have been driven mad in the past by call centres apparently staffed by operators with heavy Asian accents, whose words I could not understand. On the other hand, they also had problems with my East Midlands accent and phraseology.

The point that could have been made by the OP, is that companies like Sky and TT, are guilty of moving call centres abroad to take advantage of lower wage rates.

However, I did not use the conversation as a big stick to beat the recipient of my call. I definitely do not dislike any other people of other races or cultures as a result of my aggravation either. If I did, I would not have ever had as close friends, Sikhs, Carribeans, an Iraqui and the occasional Scot! However, those people in the next village, now don't get me started ...

I think the OP began this as a way of poking fun at "Johnny Foreigner" and his/her funny way of speaking, believing that support for this position would be given.

Save it for the Wine Bar or the Pub, dearie.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

When I`ve been ringing Orange for the past 3 weeks and telling them the same things time after time then yes it`s a chore, and my problem still isn`t rectified.

I find when I call Orange and speak to someone in a call centre outside the UK they are more eager to help and polite than some Uk call centres I've spoken to.
  • My ex worked for a utilities company.

".....and where am I speaking to"
    "Southampton"
"and where in India is that then?"

They told you early on that they used both uk and india. If your issue was the use of non-uk call centres you'd have ended it then.
What you did was carry on so that you could confirm that this single individual was from india so that you could make your "point".

It was not about the use of indian call centres, it was about being dealt with by an indian person.

I have always found the indian call centre for sky to be very helpful, if there was a problem that they could not resolve then I would be put through to the 2nd line support in the UK.
  • What a pleasant chap you are Randy.

My experience when changing phone and broadband to Sky a couple of weeks ago was it was seamless, all happened within 10 minutes and plenty of Emails.

    Well done Sky.

I'm sure Sky are thankful not to be gaining the OP as a customer.

Whatever method i've used to contact Sky in the past has been great. I've spoken to people in their contact department India and the UK, very polite and solved my problems straight away. I've been with them about 10 years now and wouldn't change.
