I love the asda ad...

Have you seen the asda ad where the mum rushes around trying to make xmas perfect and at the end she sits down exhausted and her OH says 'what's for tea love?' Excellent, it has had over 1,000 complaints so far and Asda have said that they are not taking it off even though the complainers say it is not true to life as men play a large part in the pre-organizing of xmas and are very involved with buying presents, family etc.

I reckon it is hilarious and very true:rotfl:

How much is xmas down to us ladies?;)

I've not seen it, but if it serves as a reminder to women that their place is next to the kitchen sink it sounds good.

  • I hadn't seen it, but people keep telling me how funny it is, so I have just watched it on You tube.

Yes it is funny and I can't see why people get upset by it. It's tongue in cheek humour. Some people should get a life!!

In my circle of friends and family it certainly is 'mum' that does it all!

Hubby said there's already been complaints about it, there's always some isn't there. IMO the majority of women ARE the main organisers of Christmas but if that's not your personal circumstances then some people complain.

It's only lighthearted but quite true for me and people l know.

    Flame away.. ;)

    Happy moneysaving all.

All what rushing about anyway. Couple of crates of beer which I've offered to carry in from the car when she gets them home from the supermarket - result - perfect Christmas!

My advice to compmainants would be lighten up!

Completely agree it's amusing although she did look a bit frazzled! Fortunately I do have help so it's not true of my household but know it is of many.

What it won't do is persuade me to shop at Asda regularly. There must be loads of adverts over the years that are great big hits but noone remembers what they were for.

well christmas in this house is definitely all done by me in this house because I'm a lone parent lol

But even when ex was here I still did it all, while working in retail too!

Some people will complain about anything, I thought it was quite funny too (and true!)
  • Yep! All planning and preparation done by just me. No point in moaning about it is there - quicker just to get on with it. its all very well being PC but some things are just true not necessarily sexist!

Having said that, I definitely wouldn't do the washing-up after christmas day lunch - I sign off once I've served up. The plates etc stay put until someone else washes them. Usually other half and kids pitch in and it all gets cleared before bed-time.
