    I don't have a problem talking about money in front of my friends when it is relevant (for example with my best friend about our house or wedding as we did both at the same time as each other) I would hate to talk about money and be thought to be being a show off.

    However, it sounds like what your wife did was just boring!! Who's interested in someone elses money jar? Great she's been saving, great, speculate how far you have to go, but understand that it's a terribly dull topic to anyone else!!
