Do you need a degree to get on?

Options
If you are a young person now entering employment nowadays, do you need a degree ( and maybe a Masters degree) to get on in your career considering that many professions and management jobs now require a degree?

Some women will let you get "on" with only A Levels.
Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.

I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else

I think a degree does make it easier in life to get promotions according to the data I have seen as to how much more quickly graduate get pay rises compared to non- graduates.

However, a degree is poven not to increase your overall intelligence so from that point of view a degree is not worth much.

No phil not necessarily. Plumbers and electricians earn a pile or money every day and they don't need a degree: just intelligence and the willingness to work.

Phil, isn't this a re-hash of... well, of every thread you have started so far, only this time you don't beat around the bush so much?
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

But how is your A level person going to get a Manager's job if you come up against a person with a nice polished MBA when your MBAer will know all the fancy management stuff and your A leveler won't?
