This thread doesn't have anything like enough photos!

We got a dog when I was in my mid teens. The rules were strict - she wasn't allowed upstairs, and would sleep in the dining room.

    Till we got her.

I did find it a bit annoying when she'd get in my bed for a cuddle them stretch out her legs to push me out onto the floor.

Then we got a new sofa and dad said she wasn't allowed on it. So I'd feel really mean telling her to get down all the time. Till I came in unexpectedly and found her sprawled out on it with her head on dad's knees.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Sorry to lower the tone......but with all these pets in your bed how do you manage if you are.......err.......if you are not.....sleeping? I only ask because we are dog sitting at the moment and although the dog stays downstairs she joins in and yelps when I do.......if you see what I mean.....

It was quite disconcerting the first time! We both collapsed in a fit of giggles!

  • I was always brought up with cats and dogs but they were never allowed on beds. My mum thinks it's terrible that I let my cat Ozzy sleep on the bed with me, but I have had him from a kitten and he's a real Mummy's boy! I do put a blanket over the duvet cover as whenever I put clean linen on the bed, he seems to come in with muddy paws! There have been occasions when he has come in soaked and shaken himself all over me as well. He isn't on the bed every night, especially in summer, but when it gets colder, he loves to snuggle up. I miss him when he's not there! I am a real animal lover and have made up my mind that although I cannot save all of the mistreated animals in the world (although I give to a lot of animal charities) I will do my best to give my cat (or any pet that I have) the very best life I can. After all, he won't be there forever. Having said that, I knew a gorgeous ginger tom who belonged to some British expats in Ibiza who lived to 28 so I'm hoping to have him as long!

She is allowed up but only on command. Having said that I've caught her on the bed by herself before, sneaky. But she never jumps up when I'm there unless I ask her to.

Dogs aren't allowed as they are so huge there would be no room left for me :(

I love having the cats on the bed though even when all 8 try and get on

Cats can sleep on the beds. Dog has to sleep downstairs where he has a choice of two dog beds. He is bigger, noisier and windier:o
