    You can freeze mushrooms, but they won't defrost looking like they do before being frozen. No good for grilling/stuffing.

    They'll be fine for cooking and putting into casseroles/curries/bologneses though.

    They can be frozen but they turn a bit weird when defrosted, unless they're cut up and in a sauce or made up dish. How about drying them instead? Slice thinly and either spread out in a single layer on a rack (cake cooling rack is ideal) or thread them on a skewer leaving gaps between the slices. Them leave in a warm place like the airing cupboard or hogh above the radiator. Once they've gone completely dry you can store them in an airtight jar.

    I chop or grate mine, before freezing them, perfect for adding to stews, bolognese.

    Yes I always get some in the freezer when they have been reduced I peel and slice and bung them in a bag and freeze 'em and they are great for chucking into soups,stews or sheps pies ,don't defrost well for frying though

    Hi Guys

    just a quickie ... are mushrooms ok to freeze ?would i have to fry or boil them first ?

    i have a load of them and i am planning on eating some this week then some next week in some philly sauce .. any advice would be great
