my car was hit by a Tesco HGV

Before all this, that's what the OP was asking for as per the very first post quoted above.
I'm sure he did but they want an apology from the company he works for. This happens a lot. I'm sure the store staff involved in the M&S incident last week were shocked and desperate to do anything to help. Still didn't stop M&S commenting on it though.

It seems quite clear to me. Imagine you went swimming at a Bannatyne gym and because staff had put the wrong amount of chemicals in the water you suffered a ad reaction.
Would you be happy with an "oh sorry" from the manager at the time or, as I said would you want to know as a company that they had reminded all staff of the correct proceedures so it doesn't happen again?
That is exactly what the OP says in their very first post and it was quoted above too.
I still fail to see how calling into question the OPs motives has any bearing on the question asked. It was all totally irrelevant and a lot of people responsible for essentially unhelpful and quite sanctimonious posts have simply gone through this thread thanking each other for posting yet more abuse. It's really not in the spirit of the board.
I'm sorry for those that cannot see that. I really don't like people being abused for no reason but if that's what people enjoy doing on here (and as I say, patting each other on the back for doing it) then so be it.
I wonder if the OP would have expected the same if it had been Joe Bloggs and Son Haulage, rather than a big public name like Tesco?????0 -
Would still be interested to know what part of the OP's car was hit by the Lorry steps, front left corner. Was the OP in front of the lorry entering the roundabout or by the side? Also be interesting to see a google maps reference to the location.
Things still suggest to me that the lorry had to be in the right-hand lane to turn left (to clear the corner) and OP was in the blind-spot.
The OP might not like discussion about the collision but it is relevant due to their attitude about wanting retribution
And the OP has been asked that question, but seems to have ignored it!!!!!0 -

i was IN FRONT OF THE LORRY!!!!!!! not next to.....which makes me wonder what he was doing at the same time as driving
And it wasn't 50/50% liabilty as is the case with accidents on the roundabout, he accepted FULL liability....because , duh!!!! he was 100% in the wrong.

never ever if you value your life drive in a lorry's blind spot you have the choice to speed up infront of the lorry, slow down behind or be squashed0 -

Not many people are aware of just how big the blind spot is but the following YouTube video shows just how vulnerable we all are as road users.

A sobering thought, you were lucky to escape with your life, sadly each year there are reports of cyclist deaths from exactly the same scenario. Whether I'm on my bike or in my car I avoid HGVs for this exact reason.0 -
there is a blind spot at the front corners of a lorry there are no mirrors and the driver can not see from the drivers seat a small hatchback can easily get lost there

That is a perfect example of what many of us have been trying to explain. :T:T:T
You will also notice just how far the camera had to move to even see as much as it could. As I explained in an earlier post, in a car you have almost all round vision just by moving your eyes. In a HGV you have to constantly move you head, and even your body to get as much visibility as possible. And even then there are huge blind spots.
Most people who haven't driven a HGV won't realise this. And even though the OP said they had driven a van, the visibility on them is still very good when compared to HGV's.0 -

If you want gory graphical content, then it is still available. But that video was put out by the police, and it was from a CCTV camera.
It does demonstrate what can happen if you drive in a truck's blind spot quite well.0 -
Jamie get over yourself. You're dragging this thread out as much as possible so you can stay up there on the moral high ground.
The op has already cleared up confusion about the lorry coming over from lane 3 to lane 1 to go left while the op had already stopped behind another car.
It's quite apparent that I got it wrong and I apologised to the Op. Why don't you grow some b@lls and stop trying to pick on easy targets? You could easily read back a few pages and see how the ops story came out in little pieces anbd put them together yourself but you prefer to jump on the MSE bullying bandwagon don't you.
Same applies to red eye. Get a grip!0
