To find out if the guy should be driving, maybe with his age he needs to be retested. I was there and so were numerous other people.....what he did was wrong.....it could have been avoided.....but he couldn't bother drivinv round the roundabout again.....was he in a rush.....only an investigation can tell

So what did the police say?? You haven't told us.

Actually I did say to them the guy was driving dangerously and went into me. They said call your insurance and exchange details....oh and they made sure everyone was ok ...rightly so

It sounds like the police thought you were just being a drama queen.

If there had been any evidence to indicate that he was driving dangerously, then they would have charged him. So what do you think Tescos will do if the police did nothing?

One day it will collect evidence either in my defence or to help me prosecute a case.

Or you might have to quickly hide the camera if you made a mistake. ;)

They could only charge him if he'd been arrested.

@hiccup: Apologies for any wrong assumptions and hard feelings. Your sketchy details led many of us to believe that there was something you weren't telling (we get quite a few of them here like that).

Anyway I'm sorry if I offended you and wish you all the best.

I cant honestly say i would want anyone disciplined and/or sacked on the evidence of a member of the public when the law enforcement agencies dont feel that any action is warranted ,the driver passed d&d tests and presumably the dataflow from the on board tracker all shows ok.

Trouble is you see that there are some useless managers of companies who dont need real evidence to set such gears in motion.

Perhaps all those in favour of justice and rightful application of the law of the land in favour of lynch mob mentality should also email the CEO?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

But if they had any reason at the time to believe that he was guilty, then wouldn't they have arrested him?

No need they could have just reported him.

From the report of your damage it sounds like, possibly unknown to you, your car was in the lorry driver's blind spot at the time he drove into you.

Not many people are aware of just how big the blind spot is but the following YouTube video shows just how vulnerable we all are as road users.

A sobering thought, you were lucky to escape with your life, sadly each year there are reports of cyclist deaths from exactly the same scenario. Whether I'm on my bike or in my car I avoid HGVs for this exact reason.

    As per #110

indeed, its amazing how much the obvious is not so obvious.

Care is always needed when overtaking large vehicles and undertaking is a definite no no.

Overtaking Left hand drive HGVs/coaches/large vehicles is even more perilous and on motorways it is best done only when there is an escape lane to the right if needed.
