When a thread degenerates into simply name calling, it's time to call it a day.

Those of you who are normally responsible dispensers of advice - why demean your presence in this way? You are - or should be - above this.

And, of course, the insults have been in both directions.

When posts are removed its difficult to judge if a response is justified. I normally refrain, however sometimes you have too respond to some posts in a negative way.

Especially if as in this persons posts its done in an aggressive manner.

In all the posts made I cant see their point in posting except for making absurd claims.

Can I just say that when a thread is dominated by someone who first takes it off track to the original question posed, that person should be banned because of the number of times it has done it.

Also as this person has come here with 6 different identities each of which has been barred from the forum, and all it's posts removed it does make you wonder what the intensions is here.

I have completely avoided responding to the posts in his last 3 identities because it was not worth the trouble. I have just gone and reported it to mse as it should not be here. It is a very disruptive poster and does not contribute to the forum in a meaningful way.

Try and look at this from the perspective of people offering advice for free here, for me I don't need such an aggressive poster who is bringing the ethos of the site down.

esmerobbo and Stroma. Points taken, but this particular thread has nothing new for some time and the disagreements and name calling have gone on for a bit long now.

Yes, we can all reply in frustration and negatively at times, but when it goes on and on just tit-for-tat, it really serves no purpose any more.
