Have decided to keep trying and also look for jobs. If I find one we really like we can stop shagging for a bit and I can take a pregnancy test to check before I hand in my notice. Not fool proof but I am unlikely to get knocked up when I am this stressed and miserable after each day anyway. If I do then I will have to stick with it until baby comes.

Have just chucked another £130 from Ebay and £25 for overtime into the pot so its looking like a healthy amount now. Only trouble is I have no money whatsoever in my bank account. We rijigged the finances a bit recently so I must have done something wrong. I know I can take money out of the pot if needed but would rather figure out why and live within my means.

Sat at work reading this and has made my afternoon!! Loved your terminology, cracked me up!! LOL

Ah yes back to the days of shagging. Sigh. I'm not sure BF will ever risk sex again after this pregnancy ;)

The cat and I are hiding upstairs from the builders. They are so scary we have to hide under the duvet apparently.

Now tell the truth lilyp - your the one hiding under the duvet from the builders and the poor cat's keeping you company :D

:rotfl:We did have a lovely time. Lots of cat cuddles and watching stuff on netflix. Bit worried about her being on her own with them tomorrow. Will just put all her stuff in the bedroom so she doesn't have to leave.

Bit of a stressful night involving car insurance not being cancelled on old car and therefore no no claims on new one blah blah. Think it's going to cost us £50 to sort but will have to let BF deal with it tomorrow.

Potato and smoked mackerel hash for tea which is BFs favourite thing I cook. Didn't have quite enough potatoes so spent 70p on some more. Have also thrown away quite a few veg tonight but overall we have been much better at sticking to the meal plan this week.

Smoked mackerel hash sounds nice - can I have a recipe please as I have some smoked mackerel and OH isn't too big a fan of anything that is too 'fishy' but is happy to have fishcakes/fish pie and the like.

Oh gosh - have had a proper read through all your diary and wow so many changes!

    Yeah it's been a helluva year :D

    Mackerel hash.

2 or 3 large potatoes cut into 1 cm cubes
    2 pieces smoked mackerel
    Handful green beans
    Red pepper
    Lemon

Boil potatoes for a few mins so slightly cooked but still firm
Drain and dry - I wrap them in a clean tea towel
Heat aprox 2 tablespoon oil in good large pan
Fry potatoes, stirring often. If you stir lots at the beginning they might stick.
Keep going until browned and cooked.
Add in veggies (chopped) and cook for 2 mins or more depending on how you like.
Add in mackerel a sprinkle of lemon zest and juice and warm through
    Serves 2

I just use veggies we have but green beans, peppers, spring onions work best for us. I like it with cherry tomatoes but BF doesn't.

    Hope that helps.

I am too tired to do a normal post. Will catch up tomorrow.

Please can anyone give me some advice on the best place to sell books? I have loads I am forced to get rid of but I know some are worth a few quid. BF is nagging me to send them to a charity shop as we need the space. Please help :(

How about a second hand book store, we've got one nearby that will 'buy' them off you, then give you a voucher towards books you purchase at a future point.

Or amazon marketplace but that won't give you the space! :(

I have just discovered there are websites like music magpie for books so that may well be my best option as too many to lug to the one and only second hand book shop in town. Will be a little project for when I start mat leave which is officially going to be Monday as I think I am going to have to pop in and out sorting out stuff over the weekend.

Have officially fallen off the mse wagon tonight with Chinese takeaway despite our beautiful fresh veg box. BF also spent £18 on cat food and Nicorette. Haven't even done my budget for last week.

To be honest I'm not too worried for the few days. I am shattered with work as preparing everything for handover for my replacement. The living room looks like a bomb has hit it due to everything being cleared for the builders. The entire house looks like we need to be on obsessive compulsive cleaners due to emptying of spare room creating boxes everywhere and making it difficult to clean. It's fine. In a few days I will be starting my new life as housewife and mother ( although hopefully not mother for a few more weeks)

The good news is that we have shiny new conservatory doors :j. They were already paid for by MIL (bless her she does buy us some useful things) so no worry about budgeting for them. One more thing done in our skanky house :T
