I'm confined to the house thanks to my son
I was really looking forward to this week and now I can't do any of the things I planned. I haven't even got any housework to do as he has to do it all as a punishment.
I can't wait for him to go back to school next week so I can get the place looking like it is supposed to.
If he ever gets excluded from school again I will be locking him in the cellar for the weekOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Curry Queen
If it helps - I do not have a garden either - I have what I call a "patio" - Oh alright then its a yard!!!!
But it does have some green stuff in pots and a bench so I can sit outside (if I could ever drag myself away from this site.)"This site is addictive!"

Even something like that would be sheer paradise to me right now!!!
My only external door (at the bottom of a staircase) opens straight out onto a busy street full of 'orrible, scary people
The only fresh air I get (if you can call it fresh with traffic pollution  ) is if there happens to be a breeze blowing in an open window, and then I have to suffer the high levels of street noise (or the cats attempting suicide!!!) if I open the windows more than a few inches"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

iris wrote:2 ozs stuffed green olives
15 ozs can ratatouille (could be leftovers)
8 ozs minced beef
8 ozs pork sausagemeat
3 slices white bread (soaked in water and then squeezed dry)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
salt and pepper (to taste)
Method - Distribute the olives evenly over the base of a greased 1 lb loaf tin and then cover with half ratatouille spreading it evenly. Mix beef and sausagemeat together in bowl. Mash bread with fork and add to meat mixture together with parsley. Season and add remaining ratatouille. Mix well, put into loaf tin, smooth top and cover with piece of greased foil. Place tin in slow cooker and pour in sufficient boiling water to come halfway up sides of tin. Cover and cook on High for 30 mins and then turn to Low for a further 5-6 hours (or on auto should be ok) Run knife round sides of meat loaf and turn out on to a serving dish. Serve with creamed potatoes.
I have taken this from my old Mary Berry 'One Pot Cooking' book. All her recipes are good.
Well, I didn't use the Mary Berry recipe I used my own, but I followed the instructions to cover with foil, add boiling water etc. I'm pleased to say the meatloaf was lovely
If anyone else tries this, you really do need to put foil over the top of the loaf tin. Water drips off the lid of the slowcooker and you don't want watery meatloaf0 -

Today I cooked liver in my slow cooker for the first time and it tasted delicious (thanks for the recipe idea Squeaky
). However, is it just me or is the smell of liver cooking horrendous? My whole house smells of it so I don't think I'll be trying it again no matter how tasty it is!
