    Aw, thank you toerag :)

Got transferred FOC and a meal voucher. Today was just arrival day so not missing anything big, just means instead of getting there at 2.30 we are getting there at 7.

Over the sight of the airport already and got another 3 hours to go! :o

Watching the new Location Location Location - the prices of flats in London! And especially the price compared to the size!:eek::eek:

Not gonna lie, was dreaming of the future and possibly being in London, having a mortgage that size... That would be about 6-8 times what we owe now!

It is shocking near London. We are 25 miles out in Berkshire and are definitely paying for the privilege. You learn very early on that if you move away you will never get back in. Our house is our pension though so one day we will realise the equity we have built up and move somewhere less 'home counties'. For now I need fibre optic broadband to work.

Back! Was back last night but fell asleep about 2 hours earlier than usual, bushed! Feeling more human now. Up to uni for lecture soon, need to get ready.

    This was my list before:
    • Finish CV Done!
    • Research info for application Need to speak to a lecturer who I've not been able to find so far for resources :(
    • Pack for Belfast! Done, obviously!
    • Finish models and write up for paper Not done. :( Will take time, especially after talking to people in Belfast,
    • Start studying/writing up notes for uni! Nope. Bad. This has been due to other commitments, like flights etc. This will be done over the weekend.
    • Stick to spending budget Mostly done. Obviously long way to go til end of month.
    • Set money aside for MOT and car tax Done!

    List now:
    • Research for application, speak to lecturer.
    • Models and paper. Need to finish asap so does not interrupt studying.
    • Research other internship opportunities.
    • Stick to NSDs and budgeting.
    • Send uniform letter! Waiting on OH signing letter I wrote for him!

That's all I can think of for now, sure it will grow.

In other news, not happy about something that happened at uni. I won a prize for best performance in 2nd year, shared with another student as we got same grade bracket, although I had higher grades when looking at breakdown. Prize giving was on Wednesday, when I was away. I made sure to let them know I wouldn't be there, and lecturer assured me that they would rearrange.
Instead, I find out that prize was given yesterday, to the other student, who was introduced as 'the best student in 2nd year', with no mention of me.

On one hand I'm annoyed because I made sure to let them know, I wasn't there because of research trip and not because of skiving/holiday/hangover.

On the other hand, I feel ridiculously stupid and a bit like a snobby git, because in the end, it's just wounded pride isn't it? I still got the prize etc, it's just that I worked hard and didn't get the recognition for it that bothers me. And I feel like it shouldn't bother me.

Having a hard time reconciling the two sides of my emotions right now and feeling very stupid :o

I can quite understand why you feel frustrated. This isn't down to you and your abilities but someone's ability to read, understand and communicate effectively.

You've still won the award get it on the CV.

    Best wishes and :T:T :j:j:j :T:T

  • You're not stupid Cal. It's very important to be able to celebrate successes and have them recognised. If it were me I'd have been spitting feathers ... and stamping my feet... and cursing... a lot.

We all know how well you've done and are applauding loudly, listen... :T:T:T:T:T:T
