Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It's cold!
Car back from the garage today, looks just like new, very happy. Was having visions of the new paint being blindingly bright next to the 10-year-old paint, but they have blended it very well. Well chuffed.
Mr Cal text me the other day to say 'Another 20p paid off the mortgage', don't ask me why but it really tickled me, was giggling the rest of the night and thought it was really sweet.
Did I mention it's cold? Br.
Made a cheesecake recipe I've been lusting after for ages - and was severely disappointed. Not nice!
Fibre BB installed now, loving it. OH loving it more, big gadget geek that he is. Engineer and him were having nice wee chat about sound systems and all sorts yesterday :rotfl:
Nothing much to report really, so I'll stop blethering0 -
Having dilemma today.
Have returned laptop I bought in Lightning Deals. Wouldn't shut down properly, had crashed a few times, touchpad is jerky, various wee niggly things that were annoying me. I spend a lot of money on it, and decided to return it for a refund 'cause it's too much money for me if I'm not 100% happy with it. Refund will help cover few costs I wasn't expecting. I need to budget more, but it's so hard when you don't even earn enough to be taxed.
I hate Apple products for the facts that they are expensive, and have this high status associated with them due to the cost, the prestige etc.
But I hate even more that I'm liking their products :rotfl:
I've been using a friend's MacBook Pro for 3-4 hours a day when I'm over at his. I love the lightness, the display, the speed, the quiet fans and no overheating when I'm coding, the fact that they are made for software engineering programs, and I love love love the trackpad. That is a genius invention.
But, it is so, so, so much money. The cheapest one is 850, then education discount on top.
The laptop I got that I'm returning was different brand, and was ~360 when on sale, RRP ~500. And there were quite a few issues with it. Processor is poor.
Ugh. So many dilemmas just now. I'm just gonna leave it for a while, see how I feel.
Not feeling particularly good on money front just now.0 -
Just gonna skulk away off this website, I am such a gadget geek and shouldn't be allowed near the internet with my card details0

No don't do that. MFW is not like DFW. If you take a detour and spend some money on something that you want but don't really need, that's fine - we're all free to choose. Skulking away from here will just make it harder for you to get back on track after your detour, so please stick around.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Hi Calfruay, I'm an Apple fan but do understand about spending the cash BUT it's a bit like a diet, if you deny yourself everything then you will go off the rails. You work for it, spend a little if it's something that you will enjoy and make use of, then as Lois says, get back on track and start again. It's not meant to be a punishment for you (just for the banks!!). Good Luck AG :j4 February 2014 - Mortgage Free

Absolutely agree with Lois and Anna, AND Lois is a teacher and Anna, as we've all agreed, has the most fabulous user name, so both are completely spot on and you must take heed on whatever they say:) Don't listen to whatever I say though as that's usually total rubbish (apart from what I've just said about Anna and Lois of course). Confused yet?:DFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Natty - I think YOU need to listen to me when I tell you to stop running yourself down. You ARE worth listening to, and your thread IS worth reading. Now, you've said that Calfuray must listen to me, so you'll have to listen to me too.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
