  • Hi I have been conned too by this company through Amazon. Been waiting over a month now for a Nikon SLR Camera. Apparently it was damaged through transit and a replacement was sent out which should have arrived weds or thurs. They have now stopped replying to my emails. Have contacted Amazon. Has anybody had a refund yet?

I too have been conned, they told me - of what seems everyone the same.. Bought a dslr for my business, was told it was damaged in transit and will send replacement, (didn't get the opportunity to say I wanted a refund). And the was was told it should arrive wed/thurs, by any chance is this the tracking number these scum of the earth gave everyone CW244155911US it would seems they gave all us victims the same number. What I want to know is if 'Mr Daniel' who signed for it is part of this con..
Put my claim in with Amazon, so hope to get my cash back, after all their rep is at stake here so lets hope they pay out...
  • Well, I have joined the list of scammed people by TF Traders and have taken a case out with Amazon against them. When I did, they were still trading. The day after they had been removed. And along with many others I left very negative feedback.
For info/accuracy the UPS contact I received to say the "item" was in the UK was an auto generated email which is a legitimate tracking service. I have had these before on legitimate goods so there was no reason to suspect this was phoney. TF Traders have been very clever in how well they strung us all along.
I guess we'll all have to wait and see how Amazon deal with this. The fact that TF Traders changed their name subtly part way through this episode is maybe one thing Amazon should have picked up on.
As a fall back I am contacting my credit card company tomorrow so they are informed within the regulatory timescales in case Amazon - unlikely as it may be - don't come good on this.
  • It's interesting to read the comments from all the readers. It's great being wise after the facts. Being as wise before is a little harder. I have used Amazon for many years (and ebay), buying from them directly and also through them from third parties. Never had a problem till now. TF Traders were offering, on my macbook, a 15% discount on what was available elsewhere - even from Amazon themselves. And considering Apple effectively made my macbook on order "obsolescent" by announcing the retina display version last month, that isn't such a spectacular discount that you would immediately say "scam" - though I know some, at the start of this thread, did. I have had much bigger discounts on other products, through Amazon from third parties, that had no issues with them at all. The very reputation of the name Amazon - as has been alluded to above - adds credibility to whoever sells through them. That's how they built there business after all.
There are lessons to be learnt by many people here.

It is now confirmed a scam by TF traders so why can't amazon. Issue our refunds now? why the wait ? Least they could do this side of Xmas :wall::wall:
  • I did say some people were wise before the event. Which is all good. I hope those that had done the homework first and had concerns as mentioned above, contacted Amazon straight away with their suspicions so other less wise clients wouldn't get scammed. If they did, then all of us who were scammed can ask Amazon why they didn't act on those tip offs.

My guess is that the address was as real as "Lucy Hodgkinson".
  • Last post from me on !!!!!! Traders!
I have this evening received confirmation from Amazon that I will get a full refund. So that's 4 days to get this put right financially - impressive. I am sure Amazon will do the same for all the others that fell foul of !!!!!!. Apart from the time spent chasing, this has been a low risk venture for me given Amazon are great and I had the Credit Card back up to them if needed.
FYI, I ended up buying a Macbook from ebay that arrived yesterday (ordered Friday 14th) that came out at about net the same as !!!!!! Traders, given this one comes with a 2 year warranty in the price. So, the price as advertised through Amazon that some of us fell for wasn't that startling a discount as I mentioned before.
I hope everyone who has been involved in the scam manages to recoup their outgoings and that we all learn a lesson or two.
I wish everyone a great time at Christmas and, in the nicest way, hope not to have to post with you all again :-)
  • I said that last post from me was my last.
    I lied.
I'm keen to know how Kurtis Blue got so much info on !!!!!! Traders,
"it took me seconds to google the address they gave and found that it was a recently rented bedsit selling cheap UK stock claiming it was coming from the USA."
I googled !!!!!! early on and could not get any more info than a street view of the address. I did look for Chamber of Commerce and other business directory entries and also Residential and Business letting sites but got nowhere. I'd really like access to Kurtis Blue's on line search ability so I for one can make sure I don't fall for this again.
    Thanks in advance KB.
  • Hi all
    Just read all the stories
I have also ordered my Mac book through TF traders via amazon on 8th December
But it rang bell when they stopped answering my mails regarding delivery
Can I ask you what have you done in case it proved to be a scam and did you get your money back and have any one claimed against this company ?
