TFTraders

Just been looking on Amazon and came across a company called TFTraders.
I was interested in a Samsung TV which has a saving of £100 over its nearest rival.
This company ships from America and states no taxes will be paid, or postage.
Anybody had dealings with them?

And how do you think a US company can avoid you being charged VAT and import duty at this end?
I think what they are saying is that taxes or duties at this end will not be paid by them.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I was a bit suspicious but as they trade through Amazon and I know I can rely on them, I ordered a Macbook Pro through Amazon, from TF Traders. I received the usual Amazon order confirmation and then dispatch confirmation. The following day I received an email from TF Traders directly, the body of which is shown below

    Dear valued customer,

Thank you very much for choosing us as your electronics supplier, we got it and it is being processed.

Your order is being shipped from our warehouse in the US, but please note the items are UK Spec, so carry full UK manufacturers warranty and will have UK plugs.

It takes between 10 and 20 working days depending on transit times and customs clearance etc. Please note we deal with all customs taxes/duties so you do not need to worry about them.

The items are sent to our forwarder in London who will check them for damage etc prior to forwarding them to you. It is important to us that the items are checked so they arrive to you in pristine condition.

Once again thanks for your order, if you have any questions please feel free to get in touch. Unfortunately we are getting very busy at the moment in the run up to Christmas so please allow up to 48 hours for a response.

I will update when this arrives and comment further on import/VAT. If necessary (a con), I am happy to ask Amazon for a refund. And it was bought by Credit Card. Thought it was worth the risk.

You didn't say it was an Amazon Trader, if so you have greater protection, and TFT don't get your credit card details.

Putting: TF TRaders into a google search brings up the Amazon link as an option among other links.
Really glad I did not pursue this purchase.
It would appear Amazon has removed this dealer.
Usual 'if its too good' rings true
  • Hi

I have seen that TF Traders are offering MacBook Pros for £784.99 again. I was wondering whether anyone had purchased one? If so was the product as described and arrived without any problems.

    Thanks

    With UK spec and keyboard?
    Warranty?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Yes Uk warranty and spec. They've now sold out.
  • Well, it's been a marathon and I am not there yet. Macbook due on Thursday this week. I have had tracking info and interestingly, confirmation from TF Traders that they had received the delivery 90 mins before UPS contacted me as part of the tracking service.

I did get this far 2 weeks ago only to be told the Macbook had been "damaged in transit" so I am not 100% confident with anything yet.

I noticed they have been advertising Macbook again as well as a variety of other things, with feedback as recent as Friday 7 December, so they must be trading, or good at making up their own feedback.

Will give a final verdict on Friday, with or without a Macbook.
