I've diluted full fat milk before without any problems. Just don't add too much water to start with - you can always add a little bit more but you'll be stuck if you make it too watery to start with!

It tastes absolutely fine and my OH has never noticed the difference! ;)

vik6525 and iceicebaby - im in cwmafan, port talbot. where abouts are both of you?? maybe we can have a welsh os meet up! = )

Crazychik - I am quite possibly the luckiest SOB that you've ever met. We always seem to make it through. Must admit that thanks to a few people on these boards we made it through christmas too. They are true angels. I find things always turn out for the best if you have a little bit of faith.

jo_b - yeah my OH never noticed the difference either!! I havent told him yet and im wondering if i could possibly get away with using full fat milk form now on. Only thing id have to watch is the diet! = ( but im thinking if i just buy a small two pint full fat carton every once in a while and bung it in a green topped bottle and top it up with water then he wont notice and will keep drinking it happily. what he doesnt know wont hurt him, he doesnt drink milk by itself - only on cereal!

bf has also said that the money that we claimed back is actualyl mine so im free to do with it what i want! (proves how lucky i am - brought these two tickets to see my chemical romance in cardiff, the ticket company went bust and i never got my tickets, a week after the original concert i was supposed to see I entered a competition on Radio 1 and won two exclusive tickets to a private gig in London that the same band was performing for dedicated fans only! - and then got £95 refunded today!) = )))

    Someones definately watching over me

Re-reading your original post, I'd just like to say you have the most amazing attitude and resilience.

I'm really glad things are looking up since this morning.
  • I heard somewhere that it's best to store powdered milk in the fridge, while it's still powdered, to make it keep longer.

    cheers peeps

    wendym + b33r

Thanks! Im not one to just cave in and i absolutely hate having to ask my parents for money (my little sister is not having just had £700 off my father) but i hate feeling like i have to rely on anyone.

Even the bills in my house are split 50/50 - bf works 6 days a week, 8 - 5 and gets £5.50 an hour, whereas i work 11 hours a week and £5.37ph - but i still pay my way! and whatever money is left I either try to help with his debts or i save away for christmas.

Must be my mothers mentality - shes been raising me and my sister for the last 8 years on her own really - my dad moved away and we barely see him, but she always scraped through.

Now its my turn to be a mummy my little boy can be proud of. = )
