the loophole exploited by Ryanair, which caused you to be subsidised by those who paid the £6 surcharge, is now over.
Ryanair prices are in a constant state of flux. Haven't I subsidised the passenger who got a lower fare and also been subsidised by the passenger who paid more than me?0 -

Yes, that happens too, but it's very different from two passengers paying the same fare for the same flight, except that one pays £6 more than the other in order to satisfy a legal loophole that Ryanair is exploiting.
If it is a legal loophole then that wraps up the argument, they are entitled to so do despite your boring, obsessional objections - exploiting would imply that they are taking unfair advantage, which they are not. Is your objection based on the fact that Ryanair do not offer business class, and you have to mix with the general public?

You don't appear to understand what a legal loophole is. Although technically legal, it is not in the spirit of the law. And yes, Ryanair is exploiting it and taking unfair advantage of it. That is why Article 19 of Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights has been introduced across the EU and why the OFT are implementing it early in the UK.
I know full well what a legal loophole is. It means that one can lawfully make use of it. If the law changes to close it, then continued use becomes unlawful. Until then, one does not accurately use the expression "exploit", which is perjorative, rather "take advantage of".
What a quaint notion, that of "spirit of the law" - you'd be better employed agitating against those who blatantly break the law - once that is eliminated then "spirit of the law" takes on some meaning.
Are you one of these people obsessed with an ideal of fairness & putting everybody on an equal footing and that no-one may have any financial advantage in life? Life just ain't like that - for example MSE gives people like us a distinct advantage over those who do not use it - should we close down MSE????
So all power to Ryanair and long may they continue lawfully to annoy folks wearing rose-tinted spectacles.

So what does everyone think is going to happen to flight prices! Should I book a flight to Dublin today or wait until after the 1st?Total Quidco earnings - £547.98
Everyone is scared of someone or something, everyone loves someone or something, and everyone has lost someone or something! BE NICE!0 -

So the answer to my question is yes. Thought so.0
