What about ryanair flights from elsewhere to the UK?

Are they admin charge free when using another method by UK residents?
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • So if the "admin fee" will be shown under the flight prices, why on earth don't they just add it to the prices quoted for the flights themselves?!

At the moment there is a HUGE £18 on the Ryanair front page and the £6 admin fee is written so small that I can only just about read it, and I have good eyesight!

Oh look, I have just answered my own question. Small print!

I don't believe it's done on residency, it's done on where the flight originates (that's how I've always been charged). If the flight originates in Spain for example, I assume you won't be charged the £6.

You clearly can't actually read it as it says "fare INCLUDES a £6 admin fee"...

Ryanair says in an email to Cash Passport holders: "It is with regret that we write to inform you that, as a result of decisions by the UK Office of Fair Trading, Ryanair Cash Passport card users will no longer benefit from avoiding the £6 admin fee."

And whose decision was it to charge a separate admin fee? ;)

This is what Ryanair wanted to do from the very beginning.

Next they will be charging you to visit their website.

Next they will increase the "admin" fee to £7/£8
  • Can I just point out out 3 minor details....

    1. Ryanair have been 'forced' to charge all customers equally.

    2. Many companies these days charge admin/booking fees.

    3. Around 26,000 flights go over Europe every day - You don't have to fly Ryanair.

Do you think Ryanair will now start offering free (+£6 admin charge) flights?

I remember about 7/8 years ago it used to cost £1 to pay by debit card (certainly not a massive fee compared to now!) and £3 by credit card. Apparently, American Express complained about Ryanair, so they simply put up the debit card fee to £3 as well. Back then, you could use a VISA electron to avoid the admin fees.
