Evening all.
Fuddle, I clean my microwave with steaming half a jug of water with some LO lemon or some long life lemon juice in it.
I menu plan but the price of food is ridiculous. The government is cutting things left right and centre. Nothing will be done until people start starving to death.
Mrs VP, your husbands employer sounds like a right cheeky so and so.
Right, toddler is grizzling so had better go.
Take care all xxx0 -
Hello everybody,
Well, we caved in and decided to go with huge monthly premium, policy has no encashment value and we have already parted with almost €40k so this is the only way to ensure that there will be some benefits in the future...belts will be tightened here until we are almost cut in two, but needs must.
Mrs VP....so sorry for OH's news, hopefully something will turn up.
Hope that all fluey people recover soon, its very cold here so am piling on the clothes to keep warm....OH is always cold so has ch on and fire blazing in living room....might join him in a bit.
Ordered another cylinder of gas to-day....€100, but will do us for a year.
Need to pay car insurance in a week or 2, then MOT just after Christmas, hopefully it will be ok, but at almost 11 years old anything can go....was it here somebody mentioned that there car tax was £20?, mine is €320 on a 1.2l clio, so am very jealous of £20!

I feel really lowsy and rough, I caught dh`s cough/cold only I have it much worse.
I think you must have made a mistake, Kittie, no-one has colds worse than a man's!! :rotfl: Hope you feel better soon.
YOu can all keep your germs to yourselves - don't you go passing them on to me as I need to go to Korea next week. Hope everyone gets well again soon.
I have a night at home after two out in a row. Dirty stopout I am. Enjoyed the pub quiz and had a lovely meal with my pally who got me the Korean work. We shared a bottle of wine, which is quite a lot for me these days. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking "this is how I feel when I've been drinking" and then remembered that I had been drinking  I say a night at home, but have to do the THursday night dash - collecting children from activities.
We had a lovely tea of pasta (from the stash!) with YS arrabiata sauce (19p), and YS prawns (60p worth) and YS sausage for DS. Delicious!! I reckon we fed 3 of us for 50p each - if not less. Still trying to run that freezer down.:o
Right, better wash up before the dash commences.

Seems to be a lot of bad news around at the moment.
For some reason everyone seems to be a bit down and depressed. Maybe it is the time of year or the dark mornings and evenings.
Hugs to all that need them!0 -
Blimey I've been MIA for a week or so, you've got a new thread and already hit 47 pages. Not a chance of me catching up!
I can't believe how quickly time is moving at the moment. The C word thing is closing at a rate of knots (very scary) although I think we've finally reached a dog friendly solution with the kids. No-one wants to be the one who leaves their fur babies alone all day, so I suggested we just get together for a couple of hours Xmas eve eat and swap pressies, and all spend the day in our own houses, with our own dogs (we can't have them together as my two are not fond of other dogs in the house - their territory I guess - as they see it)
TBH for me it means cooking dinner for three - so I'm not complaining, and I might even get to do the thing I always long to do at Xmas, and curl up by the fire with a good book.
Things are looking a bit grim at work, they've cut the other girls hours again - there's 45 in total to be split between DD and the other girl. Neither of them can get by on half - so don't know how that will shake out. I'm intending to be in quite a lot less in the lead up to Xmas as I have my own stuff to do. My food stall stock making begins in earnest tomorrow, as I start my 'long life' stuff off with a batch of squiffy prunes. (3 for 2 on all the dried fruit in Mr T until the 18th I think) I bought squillions of kilner jars when Julian Graves went bust...
I realised the last Tuesday Local Producers market was a full week before Xmas, when one of the other traders asked me for the date of the last market, so I suggested to the powers that be that this was a bit of a bad thing for us stall holders, and that I'd be prepared to organise another one the Sunday before Xmas if they wanted, and didn't mind, so that's now on. About seven of us are up for it, and the guys with fresh meat can now organise collections for fresh meat (hoping there may be a bargain or two to be had at the end of the day) Going to be busy...so may well be MIA again.
Did anyone see this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/19493761 Fairly shocking! But I can't say I'm surprised.

I shall be avoiding Clios then! That's more than my Vauxhall Zafira.
Kate I'm at least heartened that they're handing out food vouchers. Feels like we've regressed 50 years doesn't it?0 -
For those xmas shopping, Argos 3 for 2 on toys is back in store from tomorrow until the end of Tuesday.0

oh another one here feeling pants, I have resorted to hot 'beena (well cheapo blackcurrant squash but I can't tell the difference) and slugs of the m3tat0ne tonic unearthed from the back of the cupboard. I feel very fragile and can't stop crying tonight due to a horrid conversation with boss man. I am not going to brave the gym tonight I am going to sit on my butt under the blanket with Doglet watching !!!! on the box. Was going to read but TBH eyes are not focusing too well through the tears and it makes the pages go crinkly so decided that is a bad idea. At least with the TV if i don't see it I can rewind it or just ignore it
Hugs to all - apologies if they are a bit damp.Start info Dec11
