JKJ. Please sit yourself down with a cuppa and cake and have a hug! Try and make some time to destrss and try and clear your mind wether that be a soak in a hot bath or wrap up and go for a walk, whatever will help.

I second that, take care of yourself JKJ
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Thank you (and you too Rosieben) .... the virtual hug helps and I have drunk lots of tea and coffee today, though am trying hard to resist cake as I really need to lose some weight. About 2 stone  and am rubbish at dieting. I am trying to make myself pick up some knitting or sewing, as I love craft work, but am really tired today so can't get my head round a pattern. Like the idea of a bath, never occurs to me to have one (I do shower though honest) think I will do that after lunch and listen to an audio book.

Mrs Lurcherwalker your menu looks gorgeous is it OK if I steal a few ideas?

Nuttyp I am sure I read somewhere that large items have to last a reasonable length of time which in a lot of cases means longer than a year, so even though the guarantee time is just up, you could argue that it should still be repaired FOC. I think it was on here I read it so a search of the forums might help.
Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!!

aw you both beat me to it, I was going to invite myself to MrsLW's for Christmas :( now there wont be room for me too.

Docky you are being a monkey arent you sifting out all the doggy treats :rotfl: Maybe he was just leaving a trail so you could find him.

Notice to all poorlies - You do not have to try and be superwoman, its only Christmas and theres another one next year. People dont mind if you take it easy, they would rather have your company than feel they have worn you out. :D

OH not good today so the idea of going out is out of the window. Tbh I really havent got the inclination to get dressed and bu**er about anyway.

Mrs VP Im so sorry about your OH - disgusting way to treat people. I do hope he finds somewhere that deserves him, he sounds like a hard working man.

Hugs to all again Ginny xx

Can anyone post the link to the pulled pork receipe that I think SDG3000 makes regularly? I finally went and bought 3kg's of pork from the Bham market and do you think I can find the receipe anywhere!!

Here you go Chopper5 I must make some more as well as I have none left in the freezer and my lot are rebelling as there is none to use as a pizza topping. Please try it on pizza, it is soooooooooo good. Although I accept no responsibility for any addiction to it that may follow ;)

Thanks for all the responses and ideas ref charity giving. I think we are going to do a mixture of sending anonymous cheques and buying food for local food bank and cat and dog rescue centres. I know our £8 a month isn't a fortune but I would like it to count and not get lost in the running costs and salary expenses which I fear a lot of it does now.

Feel a bit more cheerful today, not a lot but enough to tell myself that making myself ill with worry over things I have little control over will help no one, least of all me. I get caught in a vicious circle of stress, misery, worry and fear, which leads to greater stress worrying that the worry will make my cancer worse (am currently in remission but find it hard to believe this as I feel so rubbish a lot of the time).......golly did all that make sense? Feel free to ignore, l am just talking to myself really to try and gain some perspective.

I so admire you all. Such a lot to cope with in a lot of cases but you just keep on keeping on AND offer support and virtual friendship to others at the same time. Hope everyone has a good day.

Our Co-op has collection bins for food, for the local cat and dog rescues.

Hello All, hope everyone's well. Work is as bad as ever. My car's started playing up (had major issues with it last year and it cost us a fortune), replacing it isn't an option at the moment. I'm still jittery after the courier having a little nosey around my garage, I don't want a repeat of the start of the year when someone tried twice to steal the car. All in all I'm feeling pretty low, I know I shouldn't let things get to me but its getting pretty difficult. A woman at work is doing my head in, she acts all sugary and nice (too sweet if you see what I mean) and realised in a meeting this morning she was having a dig about me and someone else but being quite clever about it. I've had a word with her....politely, but ended up shaking afterwards. I'm wondering now if some of the other women have realised what she's like as no one socialises with her. I've not been here as long as the others and initially thought she preferred her own company but now I'm wondering otherwise.
