Oh, my favourite subject
Christmas food.
Does anyone know how to clean the microwave with vinegar. I read a tip somewhere about switching the microwave on with vinegar in it to get rid of the mess but I don't know if you dilute it or what vinegar to use. Any ideas?
If I start a chilli in the SC now, will it be ready for 6pm tonight on the high setting?0 -

I use a pyrex bowl and fill it using 1 part vinegar, 3 parts water and bung it in the micro for 10 mins on its highest setting, makes the cleaning the microwave a doddle.
SC? Yes if you put your chilli on the highest setting it'll be ready for 6pm.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Ooooh I also have 10 soft bananas- can you share the cake recipe too?!0 -
I shall hire the biggest marquee I can find and borrow all my neighbours crocks and cutlery and you can ALL come for christmas lunch, that would definately make it my best ever christmas day!!!!! JKJ feel free to use any of that you want to, it's lovely you all like the menu.
UNIXGIRL - It is always difficult when someone has been in your private space uninvited, it feels soiled somehow. The courier company should at the very least be made aware of the drivers behaviour, specially as he has a known record. I'd feel the same uneasiness should that have happened to me. You're only human pet!!! Your situation at work with the lady concerned is difficult, I know just the type, but, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the others, seeing you speak out to her about it become protective of you and rally in support, it sometimes helps to bring problems into the light of day.
Hugs to everyone, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
My banana cake is a basic sponge cake recipe with added flour, a touch of extra baking powder, mashed bananas, lots of cinnamon and lots of dark chocolate. I make it in a huge roasting tin with holds a 7-8 egg sponge mix and add 4 or 5 bananas to that amount. You need to add a little more flour to stop the mix from being too wet, you are after a very soft dropping consistency. It will take longer to cook than a normal sponge, but just keep an eye on it and cover the top if it gets too brown.

You can put lemon juice or half a lemon in water in the microwave, just heat it till it steams then clean...it gets rid of any lingering smells as well. I use the lemon orange shell after I have squeezed it for juice for cooking.
Had a busy day today and I am about to rush out to go to the hairdresser to get my hair done. I think it's time I did something about it as its getting harder and harder to do anything decent with it. I want to keep it long but need a perm for a bit of body.

tawny i love guiding - it really is fun although i am very glad i dont actually run the group. The sheer amount of paperwork and organising that is needed is amazing especially when we arrange trips and holidays etc.
