I posted this on another thread, but thought I'd post it here, as she looks cute in this pic - it's my daughter's Springer, Beth.

    That's a lovely photo...:)

Thank you muffin man 7, I'll try and get the ice cream used up...the contents(meat and fish)are solid and rock hard. So may take time to thaw out but the fridge/freezer is not full of ice which is handy and it is self defrosting.

This piece of meat is a thick chunk of a decent size and it has frozen on kind of wire rack and managed to go between the spaces of the rack too. The only other option might be to remove the draws that do come out. Put something at the bottom of the freezer to catch water.

Switch it off for safety and pour hot water over the meat and hope that it frees it but your suggestion may work first...

I'll see it never happens again...

My nappy incident - well with four children and 8 years worth of nappies - often with tandem nappy changes?

It has to be when I took my second son with me to Portsmouth University as I was studying for my MSc. He was about 5 months old and had just had a growth spurt so fed constantly and could not be left at home as he refused the bottle. I desperately needed the library so armed myself with at least a couple of changes of his clothes and all the baby paraphernalia, including a baby carrier.

Well sure as day follows night what goes in must come out:eek::eek::eek: There has to be a consequence for gorging on Mummy's best milk and it happened there and then in the hallowed and silent halls of the library - accompanied by assorted grunts and .....well you can imagine the bottom burps that accompanied this explosion. Anyway I hastily made my exit and got back to the car to change him from head to toe and feed him......half an hour later he got through his second change of clothes and feed and then half an hour later just as I had him sorted he had his third nappy explosion.....

At this point I had run out of clean clothes so had to find and then make a mad dash to Motherc@re (without the wonderful invention of mobile internet and Sat Nav) but had nothing to cover his bottom half apart from his nappy. His baby carrier was covered as was his blankets  I had to carry him, bare, into the store and purchase a whole new set of vests and baby grows and a blanket for him. The store very kindly helped me out no end and allowed me use of their facilities and made me a much needed cup of tea as they saw desperation in my eyes and the fact that I nearly had a melt down in front of them at their kindness.

Cheeky little man then slept all the way home :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Morning all! We have glorious sunshine here and its wonderful. I bet its still freezing outside though!
(((hugs))) to all of you in need of them. Life is such a struggle and so stressful at times.
Giggling over the nappy explosions. I have had more than a few of those with my children, my cousins that i used to babysit and of course the childmindees. Luckily i never had the type where the child wipes it all over the walls, themselves or anything else. I think i would have fainted at that.
This weekend has been very calm and peaceful and Dad bought me a box of quality street...mmmm. Today i am going to visit a friend for lunch and gossip, then rush home to cook a curry for dinner before going to eldest daughters flat to do some decorating.

I too have had lots of nappy incidents.
Myne were all in cloth ds2 never really got the hang of pooing in his nappy every time you took it off he exploded most nappy changes ended with him in the sink lol.the one that springs to mind the most is we were at a wedding (my wedding )and he needed changing well no one else can do cloth so off I went to the loo its not easy in a big dress and a small loo I ened up with poo all over the bottom of my dress. And to make it even worse the boy demanded boob at a loud volume while we were at the alter and would not stop crying so had to get him and boob him while taking our vows. Not easy in a corset dress beleave me. Needles to say he was off my boob and out of nappies 3 weeks later then it started with his fascination of loos and at 6 he still has it little monkey he sits in there with his ipad for bloody hours its peacefully he says not when I need a week..

    Morning all,

I have been around on here in spirit, reading just not posting the last couple of days. Have been thinking of you all lots.

Been on a mini downer - think it's linked to it being school holidays and not seeing wider family (4th holiday we have chosen not to stay with parents, we always used to) and having various phone calls, emails etc from the family members giving us grief. Latest is not so dear MIL coming over (from Ireland) this month and wanting to see us. Trying to get DH to respond to email as don't want to have to deal with her on the doorstep whilst he is at work. Feeling ill for over a week hasn't helped I guessed. Also been thinking a lot about big plans and finances, it's not a pretty picture but not in the mood to post about it all now.

Anyway onwards and upwards today. Sun is shining and children are at a pottery workshop this afternoon so I get apprx 1.5 hours to myself (only time the whole school hols!) and my friend whose eldest in in the same workshop has invited me over for a cuppa and a natter. Lucky me! :j

Our posh cat has found himself a new friend by all accounts. Got up this morn to see two identical (well from 30 ft distance) male black cats, same size and same collars sitting on our fence together, the only bit of the garden that was bathed in sunshine. One was posh cat, the other a mystery cat. Stripey cat has his own ladyfriend - he sneaks into her little outdoor cat house/kennel (fully carpeted, all mod cons) for a cozy up, watches TV with her human servant family and eats her food if given the chance. Wonder when they will officially move in together? :rotfl:

And another nappy tale for you reminded of by the last post. When DS8 was a babba, I came in one summer's morning to be greeted by a baby completely covered in poo from head to toe crying and holding his arms out to be picked up. We had a really hot night and decided to let him sleep in just his nappy. He had obviously woke up and felt the urge to undertake some sort of modern art exhibition. He had smeared the contents of his nappy over all his soft toys, bedding and cot bumper as well as himself. Took two baths to sort him out, first to get rid of the outer layer of poo, the second to get properly clean. DH went into work late that day as it was such a poobath. Happy days!

edit: jem - your story beats mine any day lol!!

Somehow the craving for a naughty breakfast of toast and chocolate spread has gone :rotfl:
