Hope youve all had a half decent easter weekend, although be it a dam cold one.......
I wanted to get my large back gate painted , so I done it today, it had the sun on it so didnt take long to dry, I had to wear a good coat and gloves but so nice to get out in the fresh air......

It didnt really matter how cold it was because at least weve had lovely drying days , lots better than rain.......

On every news bulletin on the radio today its been about the benefit changes coming in from today, I know its bad but it is a bank holiday , we dont need it rammed down our throat how bad things will be, I think we all know it and are worried about how it will affect us, but today being a bank holiday id rather not hear about it.......

So much poverty about its scary, so cold we still need the heating on too.............

Got some things in the garden starting to bud, but all very slow this year, definately wont be cutting the grass for a week or two, got loads daffs in bud but they also havent opened up yet.................

Usually let the fire out this time of year and get chimney swept , but I will hang on for a couple more weeks .............Sheila..

Been to see my Mum, she is booked to have a thyroidectomy tomorrow and though operations dont frighten her, the process does and she is 82 so fair enough.

Dd finally finished moving house today which meant we did a mercy dash to pick DGs up, who has a tummy bug, so they could finish sorting stuff -:eek: I thought he had spilt his juice down his trouser leg - nope his nappy had failed to corrall his latest poop :eek: I lost a pair of his socks and 2 tea towels( the only thing I could grab) managed to clean him up, re-dress him and get the whole mess into the bin - even the cat ran for his life. 2 minutes later his Mummy and daddy arrived to take him home for a bath, bl**dy good timing or what :D Have stripped the covers off the couch and now have things soaking.

Im now going to sink into a hot bath and try and soak away the horrors I have just cleared up :rotfl: Think tea may have to wait till I have got rid of my banging headache. Hoping the poor little man feels better soon.

SDG hope you managed your trip to the shops and have had a nice cuppa to calm you down. Well done on getting there. Im freezing again today too, despite layers.

Hi Ginny All the best to your Mum for tomorrow. I've had the op done twice and its not so bad as other ops as it doesn't affect any other parts - like tummy ops etc. Usually as you are not 'ill' with it recovery time is good too - hope all goes well for her.

You've given me a good chuckle over the nappy failure - I think we've all had that at one time or another. Hope your DGs and your headache are better too

After a lovely morning and afternoon we had the dreaded visit and I have to say it was truly awful, my asthma played up with the smoke and it was incredibly uncomfortable, OH made a throw away comment that will be used by them against me and DD18 sat and told them everything that was going on in her life - again this will be used against me too.

I have come home so upset and defeated, I have just wept. I have seen them play this game too many times to not know how it will play out, they will use everything said and build it into a major PR campaign to decimate me with anyone they can get to.

I am so grateful that on the whole I no longer mix in their circles after learning that lesson last time, this time my reputation will be destroyed yet again, but at least its not with anyone I care for.

I think you are my twin, not parents but other people and family have made me swear I will NOT be visiting the village for ever again. And I am not answering the phone and not participating in contact with those who live there. I just hope my family who do live in said village will understand.

You have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies and I wish you all the strength mental and physical you need to get through this.

Thanks Silva, I thought it wouldnt be too bad and she is a tough old bird, doesnt !!!!!! about just gets on with it. Its just her age that worries me and leaving her in the 'care' of my evil SIL and pathetic brother. Im sure he was adopted, he looks like me and Mum but isnt much help and has no common sense.

Yes the nappy of doom syndrome has been shared amongst all those with small members of the family. He is now happily running round his new bedroom, as if he always lived there and undoubtedly will get his appetite back with avengance and grow 3 inches this week :rotfl:

Hi Shegar, frustrating this weather isnt it? I agree bad news should be cancelled on a Bank Holiday, we need a break from it all. I got 3 loads of washing dry the last few days including lots of towels and bedding :T Just thrown some tea in the oven as the troops are revolting and its the least I can do, really the least all the rest of it can wait till tomorrow :rotfl:

    Evening All :)

I made it to Tesco and back :T I ended up walking there and back and had to talk to myself a bit on the way back, but am in one piece and full of turkey soup, sticky toffee pudding and posh custard.

Thank you ginnyknit :) I did have a cup of tea when I got in and a slightly stale hot cross bun. I hope your DGS is 100% again very quickly. The best of luck and a speedy recovery to your DM as well xxx
I remember DS1's nappy of doom incident very well. He was sitting in his bouncy chair wearing a white sleepsuit and looking very clean and smart. I kept smelling poo and couldn't work out where from until I picked DS1 up out of the chair. Not one speck of poo on the front of him, but he was sitting in a puddle of liquid poo and caked in the stuff from his toes to the top of his head _pale_ It would be while DH was at work as well.

Thank you Bexim It's good to know I'm not alone. I stopped singing to myself after I realised that I had sung "Inflatable You" by Tim Minchin around Tesco, thankfully I stopped myself before I got to the second line of "10 foot c*ck and 200 v*rgins"

DH has made it home and has managed to explain to the Indian call centre that his company employs that he is 200 miles away from Bridgend and that they gave the call to the wrong person. Now he has to go to Cambridge in the morning instead. Hopefully that call means that he won't get called out tonight. The money for being on call means that he is earning a reasonable wage and we are grateful for it, but it is hard work and it normally takes both of us a week to catch up on sleep.

    Take care everyone xxxx

:pSDG, I once tried to report a vandalised telecoms box (one of those dark green ones on the street, y'know?) to BT on a number from their website. Got an Indian call centre worker who'd been equiped with only two geographical points of reference for the whole of the UK; London and Manchester. He kept trying to relate my whereabouts to one of them.

Provincial City isn't near either and after several frustrating minutes I just gave up trying.

I've changed a nappy. Just the once. Off an 18 month old left overnight. It was unspeakably vile and reinforced my pre-pubertal decision that motherhood was not for me. I hope to make it thru to the end of my days without enountering another nappy........._pale_ You mums have my utmost respect.

Heard a few people singing very quietly to themselves whilst shopping earlier tonight...

Meal has changed to chicken and chips(I rearranged my freezer better)and yet can't get my chips and a bag of frozen veg into it so will use them today and tomorrow. Cooking the chips whilst cooking a small chicken.

Still cannot free that pork joint I bought for Christmas and suspect the whole fridge freezer will have to be emptied and restocked or leave it there. I know no one I can ask to take my food so I can do it quick and put everything back in...

If it had been a drawer I could have removed the one affected but where it is does not come out.

Oh Ginny - my huge sympathies - little Master Stiltwalker presented me with one of 'those' nappies a while ago - words fail me......

Sent two very tired but happy small people to bed earlier - DD was so excited as we've been to her favourite place (yes again - in my MSE defence the wonderful people there presented the children with VIP passes for free entry - I cried!!! DD smiled - big time!!) and we happened to be in exactly the right place at the right time to have front row seats to see a sheep having not one but 3 lambs! DD was entranced. We went on Friday and saw 1 but it was over people's heads - this time we had the best view - magic! DD also fed carrots to the donkeys, bottle fed the lambs and the calves and collected an egg - oh and cuddled a couple of guinea pigs - one of which pooed all over my jeans which DD though was amazingly funny! I earnt glass of wine (or two) today!

    Hugs all X
