Alfiehe'll be alone for 11 hours daily. There's no way of getting him out for toilet or walks. what if he has to go back to dogs trust.
Can't worry, will not worry. Enjoying these safe feelings
Poor Alfie - 11 hours 5 days a week is far too long to leave Alfie. Perhaps you can look at dog day care or walkers?I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Discovered my laptop has two hairline cracks in the casing but that would cost to replace so as it is working I'll wait until it is totally kaput...always more worry and cost. I am now wondering if it happened recently or ages ago but I missed it somehow...
Hope you find a solution Peanut.
Well done Fuddle...
Take Care Rainy Days...
Sorry if I missed anyone...
Had one of my wobbles this past 24 hours and still feel bad...hopefully all will come good soon.
I realised yesterday, I forgot to attend my hospital appointment with my Consultant last Thursday...it went out of my head. Not like me to do that...genuine mistake..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

DH will speak to Dogstrust. Definitely can't leave him outside as it was in the clause of adoption. Dog flap no good as we have patio doors. Dog walker will cost £200 per month at £10 per hour. Paying £620 for childcare I will only be working full-time for £300 per month so a dog walker is out of the question.
I agree Molly, 11 hours is too long for him to be left alone but I have to wonder how many dogs are left for this amount of time because of parent having to work? It's a question of Alfie being in a good, stimulating caring home when we are with him or give him up to maybe worse conditions.
It will be up to Dogstrust at the end of the day. I'm not worrying about it. I understand if we have to give him back and I understand that it is unfair on him but.... I have had years of worry and quite frankly I'm not going to even entertain te idea that I fret over this. What will be will be.0 -
Congratulations on the job fuddle! I am so happy for you:j0

First of all - congratulations on the job Fuddle.
And now to my specialised subject: I have been perfecting the batch-cooking at the weekend and speed heating up during the week routine for quite a while now. Last night within 18 minutes of walking in the door we had a hot meal on the table (I'm a sad so-and-so and timed it!) .
I batch cook pasta sauces (bolognaise, tomato and sausage, spicy tomato and bacon), stews, chicken tagine, veg curries etc and freeze them in two person portions (there’s just OH and me). PM me if you want any of the "recipes". I also make batches of mashed potato and freeze that in two person portions, but all the other sides/carbohydrates (rice, pasta, couscous, bulgar wheat) can cook in 10 minutes as soon as I get in. On a work day morning I decide what I’d like as my main and take that out of the freezer (that’s the hardest bit – remembering to take it out of the freezer!) if we want mash I get that out too. As soon as I get in at night the kettle goes on and I transfer the main to a saucepan and put it on the hob to heat through. Only then do I take my coat off! By the time the kettle has come to the boil I have weighed out the pasta/rice etc and I can give the main a stir. Boiling water goes into a pan, comes back to the boil and then I add the pasta or rice, put the lid on, bring it back to the boil turn the heat off and then let it cook in its own heat for 10 minutes. If I’m doing bulgar wheat or couscous I have it in a heat proof bowl, add a crumbled stock cube plus enough water to cover it, put a lid on the bowl (a side plate fits exactly!) and then let it stand for 10 minutes. Extra veggies can also be cooked in 10 minutes, but I usually have plenty already in the main. In those 10 minutes I check the main is thoroughly heated, set the table, warm the plates and (sometimes) pour a couple of glasses of wine!
And there you go – dinner 20 minutes after walking in! And of course OH can be encouraged to get all of that on the go before you get home!
Good luck!0 -
Fuddle - would your new neighbour friend be willing to pop across a couple of times a day and let him in the garden for you? If he was given a walk before walk and two garden runs and then a good evening walk, he would probably be ok.0

7 week wonder, that's brilliant! We stocked our freezer before LO was born, but I do keep forgetting to take it out of the freezer0

P.s. wish me luck, techie friend coming this morning x0

Morning everyone, it's a beautiful bright and sunny morning, but by golly its a cold one too. Have been up since silly o clock, no reason, just light levels with these lighter morning and have made a cake, a crumble, done a wash load to go out when the frost has gone and been right through the house with duster and hoover. I have some ironing still to do and am hoping to get to the hairdresser for a trim as it must be 2 years at least since I went. I am off to see DD1 for a few days as she has another concert this weekend in the Cathedral they are performing the Bach B Minor Mass which will be beautiful. I have a few things to do for her so I shall be away until next Wednesday being her Mrs Mop and chief cook to fill her freezer up, look after yourselves all of you and I'll catch up on all the news when I get home, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
