Very best of luck for tomorrow, stiltwalker - hope it goes really, really well!0

You still up too Stiltwalker? Wishing you good luck for the morrow... and you too kidcat!
little question for some kind person to answer tomorrow - do you need to refridgerate (that doesn't sound right but then I am nearly asleep) soy sauce once its opened? I made a noodle dish this eve (that went down a treat with the family) but happened to notice on the bottle that you should stick it in the fridge once opened. I've never done that and had the bottle for months!
on that boring note, will say guten nacht (again spelling?)
sq:)

Stiltwalker - good luck tomorrow
SQ - I have never kept soy sauce in the fridge and never had an problems with it
Fuddle - if you plan the way you will make the quiches and visualise the lay out it makes it easier.
I enjoy making the stuff for the kids, several mums looked horrified that I was making them myself, she thought I was mad - thats what SM are for she said. I think I could have bought stuff cheaper but I like that its proper home made stuff. Its so much more personal for me to have put effort in.
Its made me realise how whilst my new kitchen is beautiful and very expensive, I miss my old old house kitchen that was decrepit and tatty - because we had adapted it to suit my cooking needs, extra cupboards, a good long run of worktop that was clear, extra power points where I would use whisks and things. This one is all gloss and no substance, and difficult to work in easily.0 -
SQ - never fridged soy sauce in my life and not even the health lot asked me to when I was running tea rooms (and they fridge everything!)
Ok off to bed now - busy busy busy tomorrow. X0 -
Soy Sauce has always been kept in the cupboard here.
Monnagran my name is fuddle and I also wear Tesco knicker shorts. My newest ones have spots onI used to wear thongs religiously but little knicks just don't suit my Cesarean scared girth come over hang. Oh you're visualising a sight non too pretty right now huh? :rotfl:
I adore cheese and onion quiche or 'flan' as I was brought up to call it. In fact that is what I will make for tea tonight, served with chips and coleslaw.
No, I can't sleep again. This is 2 weeks now where I have woken at this time. Normally I've just stayed in bed and let my thoughts run away with but tonight I'm up, downstairs, blanket on and going to research insomnia. I just want to sleep!0 -
I think the issue with soy is if it's kept for a lions age somewhere warmish it can go rancid, it keeps a bit longer in the fridge. Best kept in the dark though wherever you have it. I keep mine in the fridge purely because there's room in the door for it, but given we go through a medium bottle every couple of months it'd never be an issue.
Sending all my love and best wishes Silvasava.
Good luck Stiltwalker.
I have a headache from being up silly early this morning to do Saturdays chores, so am now planning to crank the rest of the day out on the sofa!
Much love to all.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I like quiche too and we call it bacon and egg pie. But the shop bought ones are about 2" thick, light & airy. Mine are 1", heavy, and taste eggy. I wish I could make a shop-type one.
Had lovely text from one son for Mothers Day and the other son is coming later. I feel better today, still wiped out but not dying slug mode.0 -
A suggestion for anybody needing a bit of a lift, Hubby found some music by a lovely violinist, Lindsay Stirling. We've got them on youtube now and it's lively, fresh and uplifting.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

I remember my mum making all the cakes for our birthday party's when we were little. I did the same for my girls, and lots of the kids use to ask to take some home at the end too. We always have an overspill of fairy cakes, rice crispy cakes and mini jam tarts.
Take care everyone xBSC member 137
