Fuddle - have delurked to amend your profile slightly - I hope I don't offend on my first post here! I have done a little bit of recruitment at work and your statement is fine - the only thing I would suggest is changing the sentence structure a little - there is quite a lot of 'I have' which I think interrupts the flow a bit.

    A suggestion would be....

I am a highly competent, enthusiastic and compassionate learning support assistant who believes in enriching children's lives. I am a caring, grounded individual with excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. I consider myself to be hard working & have a can-do attitude with a maturity that can time manage and organise successfully.
I have worked both as part of a team and as an individual, and am adept at dealing with difficult situations (could you put a brief example in here?) I have experience of following strict guidelines surrounding safeguarding and confidentiality issues. I have over (how many years?) in supporting children and young people, while promoting independence in educational settings.

Definitely don't pay them money to amend! And good luck with the job hunting!

Thanks all. I'm shattered thinking about it. £20 to dumb down. That's neither nice nor fair (monnagran? Get the neither/nor. I listened and learned ;) did I get it right?)

Miri thank you! I really do appreciate that and now you point it out I completely agree with you. I shall alter ;)

Well, going to try to forget about it. Some days I feel so strong and then others like a little immature girl who isn't strong enough emotionally to deal with the real world. I mean, nothing has really happened eh? New to give my head a shake.

    Off to make a chilli.

Oh and girls disappointed because our tesc0 didn't have their free world book day books in :( by the way, eldest had her wimpy kid designed t-shirt and youngest had check wrap around skirt with plates and cups staples on and hugging a teddy. Than you however it was for saying so teddy bears picnic ;)

Possession before you cook the bacon can I suggest that you try some first to see if it tastes ok.

I found some in the freezer that had been there awhile and used it in lentil and bacon soup, and although not off I wasn't happy with the taste, so ended up throwing it away

Nutty - good work on the painting front. I keep looking at our bathroom (and kitchen and ...) and I really need to find the time to paint it. Drats re the speeding ticket. Horrible aren't they?

Fuddle (just typed fuffle!) I also think your profile is great, with Miiri's refinements it's more than perfect. I think the £20 is a big fat con. This is just a hicup in the grand scheme of things, don't let it deter you from your big plan. You can do it!

Peanut - I hear your frustration love. £500 is a lot of money to find. It will all work out, just might take a little more time than you thought. Good stuff happens as well as bad, maybe you're due a spell of good luck. I am sure you have tried everything known to humankind but if we can help in any way to tweak things, just ask. Have you done a SOA, debt forum is great at helping too. Enjoy your hug with OH and have one from me too. Take care and chin up.... it will be ok in the longer term, just wait and see.

thanks ginny, Mrs LW and everyone (sorry forgotten now since been reading other posts :o)

I'm thinking of that Gloria Gaynor song "I will survive" and chorus goes:
Oh, no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live, I've got all my love to give And I'll survive, I will survive, I will survive

That's us here, we will survive and not only that thrive!

With the vast range of professions on here I think you can safely say your cv has been vetted and proved excellent Fuddle and with Miri's tweaks its even better. Cheeky burgers trying to make £20 :mad::mad: Once you get to interview they will see you are as you write - perfect for the job :D

Oh Docky mate you make my day everytime you post, so glad you are better.

Peanut, hope you manage to work out where to find the money as Im sure it will be money well spent. Give your little one a hug and put your feet up when he(? cannot remember if its a boy or girl :o ) goes to bed x

We had a quiet day as Hubs was sleepy again but got a lot done. I got a huge chicken from Mr S and have managed to make lots from it also the freezer is much tidier as we have used up all those bits and bobs leftover. The men here didnt mind the other night when they got a couple of potato croquettes topped up with DGS leftover smiley faces and a hand full of chips. Lets face it if you put gravy on it men will eat almost anything :rotfl:

    :D Evening all.

For those lovers of squirrels (never mind, it'll soon be legal ;)) I would like to provide the latest installment of the outrageous behaviour at the parental home.

Snooty Cat had her flea treatment today, which is always cause for a moody and an instant bolt out-of-doors to sulk for a few hours.

She bolted out, came f-2-f with The Squirrell From Hell on the patio and the blasted thing took a run at her and then she tore off up the garden.:rotfl:I'd like to add, for comic effect, that the squirrel chased after her but it didn't. Prolly sniggered, tho.

Lawdy, this beastie is clearly getting the upper hand. Snooty and her sistercat Fluffy are accomplished hunters but specialise in smaller caliber prey like little birds and mice. Unlike Nan's late cat, the lamented Blackie, who'd kill all sorts inc squirrels. Heck, Blackie took out a stoat once and left the carcase as a love-gift on Nan's back step. Now that's what you call a moggie.

I sent the folks Dippypud's pic from last night via email and they went Awwwww!

Monnagran, I haven't seen a red squirrel in 35 years in RL, you are lucky.

Fuddle, I like your statement and agree with the others, it's a blinking try-on. Barstewards.

OK, gotta have supper and see what the rest of the interwebulator is doing. Have a good night and hugs and a squidge for Docky because I love his little face in the avatar, sooo cute (and I'm a cat person).

Well we've been invited to the bar tonight (of where we work part time) as lots of friends are meeting. As we can get a staff pint of squash for 20p we are there :)

Plus a friend is coming with her 3 month old little girl and its always lovely to see her, she has a gorgeous smile! Plus I can see what our little one will grow into :)

Ginny, a little boy :) he's only 6 weeks so goes down for the night at 10.30 and we do too! Lol.

Sq: I do need to do a proper SOA and see where it's going. We're tracking every penny in march to see how we go :)

Oh and the divorce will be well spent, can finally move on with my life with OH and LO :) Honestly I think that gets to me. I just wanted out of the marriage so told him he could have the house and walked. Now I realise I've walked away from what could be a deposit on a house for me and it does make me kick myself :( Especially when he is not the bigger person :(

    Sorry rant over!
