kidcat - I thought of a Ragdoll too, but I think they are bred to be indoor cats, and it might be difficult for you to keep it indoors? It does sound ideal though, they are very soft and placid.

It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Cranky has Borats and they are crazy, mischevious and hilarious . They seem to prefer finding trouble to being snuggled. Im sure she will call in and warn you later :rotfl: Maybe a visit (on your own) to a rescue centre will find you a totally snuggly cat Kidcat. I say on your own as if you take the kiddies you will come back with the daftest cat in the place :rotfl: ask me how I know????

Much love and gentle hugs to darling Docky, the poor boy. he is in good hands though. I do hope he perks up soon xxx

I store all the information about auty's for help with DGS as he grows. We learned about the whole sensory overload early on and take it into consideration with him as he really suffers. Yet he loves train rides, although he does sometimes decide playgroups and social occasions are getting too much and wants to leave. He is now reading letters and numbers on lorries etc when we are out and can read simple words - he isnt 3 till the end of April :D Boy are we going to be busy keeping up with him.

Ginny what a good feeling that must be. :)

I have yet more family stuff - my cousins have decided to attend both my kids parties- I invited them back when we were all at the hospital, I cant say that after all that has gone on I expected them to attend though. Havent told OH, he will be very unhappy, but I am going to deal with it another day:)

Today DS14 has suffered dreadfully and as a result our poor demented kitty has too- DS keeps hugging the kitty, who doesnt like it, then DS will complain because kitty has managed to escape - and hide!
We had a really bad meeting at school yesterday and its really hit home that this isnt going to go away, he is unlikely to ever return to school - they have recommended requesting a doctors note to say he cant return. And it wasnt school saying it, it was his support workers an the ASD specialists, I think I had it in my head that he would be able to go back to school but they say he just wont ever be able to cope.

As a result and following todays kitty torments I actually sat down and have done his DLA claim form - well almost, its online and the service went down for the last two pages but I can finish it tomorrow.
If he can get his claim done we will get him a cat that is ok with being cuddled, placid, laid back, empathetic and with super soft fur. I will obviously buy super cat!! I will insure to make sure we can afford it and he will at least have his method of calming and stressing back.

OH will be not a happy husband but its clear that DS is not coping without his sensory cat and he needs it so much. He tried sitting stroking my arm before but it didnt feel "right".

Have load of party stuff still to do but a whole day tomorrow to do it - no meetings at all. I have told everyone I am having a day off and wil ignore any crises from the variety of groups etc that are bound to arise :)

Hi Kidcat,I was pointed over here by a friend..Hope you don't mind.

Why are they saying he won't return to school? What ideas have they got? My ds got back in school but through a very specialised package where he has his own room, minimal items in it,a team of staff to himself and also a Safespace they bought for him to retreat to.He'll be 14 next month and is currently in school 4 hours a day after increases since he started this school in october 2011..he should be full time soon :)

Don't give up there may be something available.Ds was out of school over a year before they put something together, but there are alternatives too.If there is anything I can help with let me know.

    Take care x

    Afternoon all -

Lyn - hope Docky is ok, give him a big 'ol snuggle from me. There is nothing more p'fetic than a poorly dog, even my exH couldn't eat the dog in a 'looking poorly and sorry for yourself' competition and he took man flu to a WHOLE new level!! He even had special 'poorly trousers' that he would wear (horrid old saggy jogging bottoms) and would sit around on the sofa in those and his dressing gown moping!

Had an amazing phone call this morning from the charity we had applied to for some of the money for the buggy and they have ringfenced £2000 for us so as long as the coffee morning goes as well as expected I should be ringing on Monday to order the new pushchair!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

So by DS's birthday my little guys should be riding round in style in a super new buggy that is both big enough to be safe and comfy for them and is not crippling my back. I can't even begin to think how amazing it will be and how amazing the support has been to get us there. We have had help from friends, relatives, our community, folk on here and I think I must have gone through a whole box of tissues, welling up with the kindness we have been shown.

Right off into town now to get some change from the bank for floats. Catch you all later - Hugs X

    Great news Stiltwalker!
I'm reading everything but having difficulty grabbing time to post at the moment - hugs to all those having difficult family times. We are a resilient lot though and will bounce back!
  • Hello all, thank you so much for all your well wishes for the Dockling, he is out with his Dadi for his afternoon walk as Mumi and the loo cannot be separated today, Yuk, enough said!!! I will tell him how kind you are when he comes back.

STILTWALKER how wonderful that the charity will make that size of contribution towards your new buggy, brilliant news, so very delighted for you.

Back off to the sofa in a second as I don't seem to be able to stay awake for long today, tomorrow hopefully I'll be a bit more with it, no guarantees though, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hi everyone, sounds like some great news on here today - hey stiltwalker thats excellent. Everything comes right in the end.

Today os my eldest DD 22nd birthday, where did the time go??? I remember her first day at school and her little barbie backpack that was nearly as big as her!! For her birthday tea we are going to KfC, not exciting but something we can sort of afford to have as a birthday treat.

Have ust popped the heating on for 5 mins, sort of turned chilly here. Well must get some cleaning done, i havent done anything yet and im already half way through the day!!!

    Take care x
