  • MAR - I have dealt with the Brisket - it was too nice to mince for shepherds pie and I had loads of gravy left so from the £11 joint we had 2 x Roast Dinners yesterday, I have frozen 3 x 2 portions of sliced beef in gravy, tomorrow as it is St.Pirians Day I have chopped beef to make 4 large Cornish Pasties, and I have enough chopped beef in gravy after that to make a large Beef and Tattie Pie to make 4 servings- that makes 16 adult servings in all which have cost me roughly 75p each, good eh? The sausagemeat I got I've made half into a savoury sausage sauce which will give us 4 adult portions and 2 toppings for Jacket Potatoes, the other half I will make into a wartime raised sausage and apple pie to have cold, that should do 8 portions and the bacon I'm going to use for stuffing two ginormous mushrooms I got from the farm shop, they are teaplate sized. So I reckon that for my £19.75 I've made 32 meals, got to be good, yes?

Well Mrs L - in Costco this morning I got a chunk of lamb shoulder at £10 odd. It's cut up and in the pressure cooker now, with 2 onions, some carrots & half a turnip. The plan is to add tatties and do a hotpot for tonight, then freeze the rest. I wanted to do it in the crockpot whole, but the RV moaned about the elect :(

    I know. He's just being a PITA :D
  • It'll be delicious MAR and give you many meals, and if they're all cooked and ready in the freezer, when you have a poorly day, they'll be ready and you won't have to worry about cooking, can only be good!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

Hi everyone, having a blissfully nice day today. Mum popped over and took me, DD and her fiance (its his birthday today aswell) out for a pub lunch. Now its DD birthday wednesday and mum said we should do it all again.... Sounds like a nice plan.

Went into MR S and used the vouchers, bought some bits for DD as i saw her fridge was rather minimal. I was quite shocked, so bought her some butter stuff, orange juice etc and some baked beans..... Oh well i now know they have enough food for a good few days. I know we are not exactly financially flush, but it really did make me worry that they would eat properly. A mother job hey!!! never ends.

Off for a 5 mins rest, take care everyone x

Happy birthday Nuttyp! I hope you are enjoying your day.
I know what you mean about a mothers job never ending. I also bought some shopping for my eldest daughter today.

Stiltwalker your brooches are lovely. I hope you get the marks you want ofr your essay.

I am currently torturing little brother at his request. He wanted me to dye just the tips of his hair using a cap and hook to pull the hair through. He has been squealing and jumping all over the place. Im not deliberately trying to hurt him (honest;)).
We are waiting for the bleach to take effect and then will come the pink hair dye. Very nice too.....i hope.
  • It is so lovely and sunny here today not only did my two wash loads dry nicely but WE HAD LUNCH OUT IN THE GARDEN!!!!!Admittedly we are nicely sheltered on the patio and weren't out for a huge amount of time, but we had soup and rolls in the sun and it was lovely!!!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.
