And I'm over 60, overweigt & still love my lacy thongs!
Monnogran, you could make the knickers out of old tee shirts, they'd be lovely & soft.

Thongs for me are for bedroom wear only. The idea of wearing a cheese wire for an entire day makes my delicate bum twitch.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

it is strange that the objection is the lavender and not the mouse heads !
Yeah, but that was only because we couldn't figure out where to buy them from.
Well GQ, I knew I'd not win on soap quantity, though I know my bars are bigger (500g each). But I see your 26 rolls of TP and raise you another 30 (48 roll packs were on special), as for toothpaste we tie, though I have the same in toothbrushes. Shampoo is off the table thanks to the prescription one we use (at $26 for 250ml, I'll never be able to build up a stash), but I have a new card! Washing up liquid! 18 bottles of fairy! At 99c a bottle (60p) I couldn't say no.
Innit funny how you and I do this, when I think we actually live in the smallest homes on the thread :rotfl:
Welcome Bexim, I'd try to explain what GQ and I are up to, but I can't.
Kidcat, you're doing the right thing. Avoiding conflict and people who want to bring it.
Peanut, when suggestions arise of going out for dinner, unless they immediately suggest somewhere very cheap, I often counter with a suggestion I cook. It works out cheap and I'm not bad, so they're happy.Bexim, a long time ago in a land far away, an earlier incarnation of this thread took itself off to a part of the forum board called The Moneymakers Arms. Where a lot of goodhearted nonsense was perpetrated, including a game called Food Poker, which was bragging on your stores. It has a cousin called Non-Food Poker, a version of which is being "played" here. Join in if you wish but I just didn't want you to worry about it.........:rotfl:
I am quite envious of the large quantities of things! OH can't get his head around singular massive boxes of washing up powder or one loan pack of 30 rolls of tp! To be fair though, I would almost certainly have the smallest home by far on this thread, we have no space for anything more!Softstuff and her OH share a small apartment unit and me and the spiders share a small flat. I have 4 rooms; a bedroom just about big enough to take a double bed, with a less-than-3-feet wide alcove designed to hold a wardrobe, a kitchen 6 x 6 feet, a lounge 9 x 12 and a bathroom which you can open the dor into by a whole 45 degrees before you smack the middle of the door into the WC.
I've become the queen of unconventional storage. My tiny flat is the subject of much mirth among people who know me.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ - I'm amazed at what you can fit in your place. I knew it was small but that's titchy....my fabric hoarding tendencies would have me buried alive by now I think.
Today I'm stripping ceiling paper from the kitchen, I hate that job but no one else is going to do it and I'm beggered if I'm paying someone to do it. Then got to go and finalise my floor tile choice (I wish I had your kitchen on this one GQ - I've got 26 square meters to cover in that room alone!) once I've recovered from the heart attack at the price (and really tried and failed to talk DH into bare concrete being a good look) I need to start taking the airing cupboard to bits so the plumber can fit the new boiler next week. Middle of the week is taken up with DHs Physio and OT so need to crack on......maybe another cup of tea first?"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

I have to say GQ, that in the event of there being a new "square footage per person" tax (the only possible extension of the bedroom tax), we'll be streets ahead of you :rotfl: You have 1 room extra to us, but our rooms are a bit bigger, yet there's 2 of us. Still, you could always name Henry as being your dependant. Bearing in mind that I'm home 5 days out of 7, as is hubby since he even works from home, we do get a fair bit of usage out of the old humble abode.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
Morning everyone, looks like a nice day today - and its my 41st birthday!!! My mum has just been to see me and given me the most lovely gift, its a snow baby with eeyore I LOVE EEYORE!!!! Yesterday we had friends over and had lunch at DD house. We all got talking and we are hoping to have a day out at cadburys world, depending on money.
Our friends daughter has invited us to her wedding, i am so excited. We looked on the interweb for a b&b or hotel for the night, but its looking at £145 just for a room as that week is a major racing event in newmarket. So no hotel, but our friends have offered us their sofa for the night. Bless them, so we are sorting breakfast for us all for the morning after!!
Today I am going to sainsbobs, seems i have managed to get 2 vouchers off the shopping meaning 14 off a 30 shop. It is such a major saving it would be rude not to use them. I have just started a list of what can we squezzed into the freezer and kept.
I cant join in the stakes for the stashes some of you have, i use to hoard shower gel and hand soap but these have been greatly used up over the winter months. My last bargain was 10p bubble bath in superDRUg, but that has been long used up.
Right washing needs doing, and lots more to get sorted
Have a lovely happy day everyone xBSC member 137

B&T, nice to see you back
I haven't really been away, just mostly lurking because I was working full-time. As of today I'll only be working one day a week until I can find something else.
This money-saving lark will become a full-time job until further notice and I expect you'll be hearing my last month's salary-payment squeaking when the very last dregs are ruthlessly squeezed from it. Possibly some time in August, so listen out for it.
Once I've tidied up I need to get my window-sill gardening on the go, so there is some benefit in being "economically idle" or very close to it.
Hugs to all who need them.

Morning all! Lots of giggles from the pictures of village knickers, and the mere thought of toohte soape made from mouse heads!!!!
I have had a much calmer weekend with relatively few dramas. Unless you count the central heating pump packing up and not working. I wondered why we were all cold. The engineer came out and has ordered a new pump. two hours after he left the pump decided to work again - but now the radiators are on and burning hot even though i have turnt them all down to lowest setting, turnt the thermostat to its lowest setting AND turnt the heating off at the control box:eek::eek: We are being boiled alive!
Little brother has also just gassed us. It was so bad youngest daughter has thrown up her breakfast. Do i really have this to look forward to from my son in a few years?0
