    Have a lovely day Mardatha
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • I can offer virtual sympathy to those in need, as indeed some of you are. Hope you don't mind if I leave the virtual hugs until later when I know you better...

PIC. You are far too organised for me, I'm just not myself at 4am. It is still dark...chooks don't stir until daylight and neither will I.

MEME. So kind of you. A quiet start is perfect, will allow me to get over the jetlag. Present opening is not to be rushed, in my opinion. As well as re-using the wrapping paper (one famous and now very tiny piece in our collection was first used for a pair of 'jamas when my son was 7yo - about 40 years ago), each gift is wrapped slowly, with love. Needs to be opened with care so the love washes over the gift receiver.

Looks like a wonderful table you have planned. My mouth is watering. I'm a dab hand with pate, known as chook poop. Daughter came up with the name as a means of discouraging grandsons after they queried it suspiciously, in the hope she would retain most, if not all of the pot for herself. I experimented with its manufacture after watching a tv program with 'Hester' and her neighbour 'It's only Sonia'. Can't remember the name of the show, now.

If dressing gowns are off till company departs, what should I wear?
Looking forward to joining you and promise to keep my elbows off the table.

    Pru

Morning all, sorry to hear some are not feeling great and I hope you all manage to speak to others and sort your woes out.

I was living in eternal hope that the money fairy had visited my bank account last night and deposited a pre-Christmas present for me, but no this month is TIGHTER than a you know what!

Doglet and I had the first uninterrupted night this week (thank goodness!) although apparently some displays that were supposed to be last weekend have been moved to this weekend - will it ever stop?

I managed a fitness assessment last night - the result is - I am not fit. I am especially not fit compared to how I was this time last year. This is a matter I can now address. In fact I have to as I know I become less able to sleep, slower generally (on the uptake but on some days there is nothing that can be done to improve this situation lol) and a lot more grumpy, more prone to 'woe is me all is dark and there is no hope" thoughts if I am unfit. This is not sensible and doesn't really achieve a lot so I need to focus my energy and time on something more productive. I now have a plan .... and I will be working my fitness levels back up to somewhere sensible for me.

JKJ, I hope you're alright my dear. You don't need to share a drop, but that doesn't mean you can't tell us when you're struggling. We'll prop you up ;)

nutty it is a bummer about the job but I think you're doing the sensible thing. I suspect your IBS would be a whole lot worse with the worry of week after week not being able to add to your hours. Your area manager sounds like she's listened to you and is trying to accommodate, she obviously doesn't want to loose you ;)

edited to add. Mar enjoy your day out :j step away from the Daim cake, oh go on then! Think of me when you're scoffing ;)

I know I've only posted recently to whine and hesitate to do so again, but if I didn't have a whinge and a virtual hug with you guys now and again I don't know what I'd do.

In any case, still no shingles rash. But I now have half a numb face, dizzyness, the odd stab of pain in the ear, which according to the doc today means it's still shingles and I'm still fighting it off (hence no rash). I now have tablets to stabilise the nerves (and hopefully my balance). Should this not go within 2 weeks I have a referral for an MRI for suspected MS.

Shoot me now, it'd be kinder.

In any case, however this turns out, I'm booking hubby and I in to a nice restaurant on New Years Eve, one that has entertainment, regardless of the cost. We've never done anything before, but this time will be different. Because if there was ever a time to celebrate a year being over, this'd be it.

*hugs* JKJ, I'm sorry to hear you're having a terrible time, but rest assured this is a safe place to vent and get a bit of virtual love.

  • May i join in please? I have been reading and lurking for quite a while now but you are all so friendly i thought i should be brave and introduce myself.
I am a single parent to 4 children (eldest has now left home) and have just got a job dropping catalogues door to door rather than sign on every fortnight. I am a brownie and rainbow guider (great fun!:j), love knitting and reading and i have a HUGE extended family......6 uncles and 3 aunts not including their partners, well over 75 cousins, 16 nieces and nephews as well as 10 brothers and sisters. I have one dog called Pixie and a cat called Jerrry (yes 3 r's in his name) Jerrry is feeling very sorry for himself as we have just discovered he has a flea allergy and his fur is currently very patchy. Pixie is feeling a little bit better now that the fireworks have finished in our area. I signed the petition somebody linked to earlier in the thread. I hate housework and love sweets and chocolate.
I think that will do for now!

You'll fit right in 7up.. Unless you live in Mardatha's part of the world when there could be sweetie supply problems with the two of you competing for limited stocks:D
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
