Poor FUDDLE have a virtual Hug or two to go with your £44 credit from the power company, perhaps you were starting this sore throat for a few days and that was what was putting you off your tea? If
so the fact that you are wanting a cuppa now says you are on the mend even if your poorly old throat does hurt today, take care of you little one, Cheers Lyn xxx.0 -
Been to the garden centre! I know - such a wild way to spend a day off work!
Bought some little hand tools, some seeds (exciting ones!), and some Yankee wax tarts. Far too excited by it all! Time for a garden / Spring blog post I think.0 -

fuddle, the community switch thing is happening round our way, too, think it is supposed to be countrywide. Our local community group is flagging it up to all residents, think it's a fab idea, hope it works!

Someone has lost my best, ancient can't do jack in the kitchen without it knife while I was poorly. I have torn the house asunder trying to find it .
I have been out and bought two new ones so far, but nah, no good.
I am utterly, utterly bereft.
I know just how you feel. Yesterday the handle snapped off my "little brown knife" (which us what my mum always called the vegetable preparation knife - mine actually had a black handle :rotfl:) I feel like the end of the world has come.People Say that life's the thing - but I prefer reading

Oh I'm spitting feathers! Had an email reply from energy supplier re: my query about that high fictitious reading on my account yesterday. They are denying all knowledge, state no third party has submitted a reading and would like to draw my attention to my account which does not contain the reading. No because someone has removed it today! Also my £44 credit this morning has been removed! I'm really, really angry but do you know what the worst is? Being treat for a fool. That reading was there yesterday, dated and submitted by meter reader. If it was guesstimate or random estimate generated by a computer the so be it. Don't just suggest I'm mistaken.
I have replied asking for information as to who/ why that reading was there yesterday and who/ why it was removed. I only want the truth. In reality my account is upto date and accurate now so non of it matters but my darn principles are getting in the way again. I wish I would just roll-over and forget about it.0 -
Fuddle - it may have been a reading submitted against the wrong account that was corrected through the system on a batch correcto However, their systems should show the entry and removal if you really want to ask them. They may not be visible to the agent on the end of the phone, but they'll be in there somewhere.0

Fuddle : You knew what you saw; so I wouldn't let it drop totally either.
Re Prof. Brian. I don't normally go for his type at all but it's his infectious enthusiasm that gets me. I normally like my men more rugged. George Clooney still ticks all the boxes.
Dara O'Briain - same thing, not my type normally, but the added intelligence of the man adds something.
I saw Dara in stand-up in Dublin in 1998, he was already a star on Irish TV and only 25 ish.
He is phenomenally intelligent (he was a uni lecturer in Physics at 24) and such a clever comedian - his act then was the same as it is now, very much fuelled by audience interaction.
I came back singing the praises of this wonderful young comic (though even then, he looked 10 years older) and I'm so pleased that he made it big.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I like Dara too, very funny & intelligent man. I don't find Cox infectious at all though. ;-)
Fuddle, it may be that you need to pick your battles. Getting so upset is not good all round. It may be a computer error, human error or something more sinister, but until you have a clearer picture of the next few months you won't necessarily know. I know my online account has weird and wonderful figures sometimes, but I've learned to wait a day or so and it rights itself. Have no idea why, but if when the bill is checked and it's fine, then I don't pursue. Just not worth my energy.Pardon the pun.
also, email responses seem set, that is the person sending doesn't have to think about a reply, and often they don't know how the system works.0 -

Mum lost her fave "little brown knife" and was so annoyed that she bought another. When the compost was turned out in Spring, there it was, none the worse for the vacation.
So now she has two....Fuddle - it may have been a reading submitted against the wrong account that was corrected through the system on a batch correcto However, their systems should show the entry and removal if you really want to ask them. If you see anything hooky like that again, why not do a "screen grab"? Hold down CTRL-ALT-Print Scrn (look on top right of your keyboard for the Print Scrn button if it's like mine) and then you have captured an image.
I paste mine into a Word doc and save it, but at work I've been asked to put them in emails to the IT Dept when some weirdo error message pops up on the screen and they want to see what I'm seeing.
That way you could email the utility company and show 'em if they were denying all knowledge. And something for your own records, too.
Pootling around with the Wiz incoming at 6-ish to fit my new fan, better get the tea on. I've hidden my laundry by taking down the clothes horse. Me & him have known each other for a decade but there's such a thing as TMI and I think my "harvest festivals" fall into that category.
