 OMG, Prudence, she's got away?! I'm calling Interpol immediately, they've got to stop this before it gets any further, there's no telling what she might do to the lifesavers, she's a woman of tempestous passions, it just doesn't bear thinking about. *shudders*
I'd travel immediately to rescue you but I start to fry in temps above 30 (redhead) so couldn't possibly endure Western Australia at the moment. Plus me and ants don't get along too well indoors....and you have a dangerous chicken, I believe?I went to Mr T just before closing time and came away with 16 wholemeal bread rolls for 40p. Yippee, that's some for the freezer and this week's pack-ups for work sorted.
Gotta go and incinerate a FB pie. Heard no mention of horsiness in FB pies, thank goodness. It's nice to know that in this world there are some things you can still count on. And stackable tinned pies are my siege food of choice.
Have a good evening, (or a good morning, if you're Prudence and Softstuff). Laters, GQ xx
Talking of you getting some cheap bread rolls and freezing them , why is it sometimes when I get some rolls out of the fdreezer they have gone hard, I did come across the words "freezer burn " is that what has happened to my rolls please.....?
I do always make sure they are packaged when putting in the freezer, I dont seem to get whats going on anyone please...?...Sheila...0 -

Isn't it interesting how they work out these YS reductions?
The last lot I found were 5p for 8 Bread Rolls so for the 16 that came to 10p. And bread worth £1.49 was 7p. I have no room in the freezer but it lasts ages anyhow and that price if some is wasted I don't mind..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. I do always make sure they are packaged when putting in the freezer, I dont seem to get whats going on anyone please...?...Sheila...I just chuck mine in the freezer in the packaging they come in, but as I have a tiny countertop freezer nothing gets to hang about there very long. Once-frozen bread does seem to go state more quickly than never-frozen bread, though.
Mum buys bread baked at her Sainsbugs and it comes in a special brittle plastic wrapper, with micropores (they wrap this stuff still hot from the oven and this kind of breathable plastic lets the heat out without causing condensation). So, when she freezes it, or even keeps it in the fridge, she ties an ordindinary supermarket carrier bag over the top and that sorts it. HTH.
Pops, they're in packets of 4 rolls which started out at £1 a pack and ended up about 50 mins before closing time at 10p a pack. Just 2.5p a roll, I couldn't make them for that. They did have some loaves reduced to 14p but they were white loaves of the cotton-wool variety, which I detest. Would eat them if there was nothing else, mark you, but not going to seek them out. My fave shop-bought bread is that stuff with soya and linseed which is £1 in the shop wot Mums got to and £1.35 everywhere else.
Pretty pleased with my groceries, have a Liddly 39p cucumber so will be having ham&cue and cheese&cue and cue&cue rolls for my pack-ups. A penny saved is a penny [STRIKE]you can spend on books/ chocolate[/STRIKE] earned, I mean. Honest.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hello all been desperately trying to tame RL, and don't even get me thinking about *work* that is a whole heap of nasty with SOOOOOOO many deadlines it really does not even begin to think about.
Trying to get DH and I on the same page about Easter ..... And sadly having to provide ear based support rather than practical or in this case fiscal based to DS.
Glad there are some positives, we do have evidence of spring springing here. Doglet and I are having a battle of wills where he is grizzling and I am ignoring him, he seems to think he needs more food.
I think Nursie has detoured to reign here for a while. Much tea is needed and has been chucked at me recently. If she could please knock DH into shape I will willingly brave the land of bottom pecking chickens and ants to escorted her onwards. I think she is in the understairs cupboard as several empty vino bottles rolled out this weekend, and there was some interesting comments about rugby players coming from there, I have to confess I did not investigate much further, but I am sure they will recover to play next week ......
Have a good week, I have a JOYOUS EU conference to attend .... It will not be good.Start info Dec11

Phew!!
I have done 2 days work in just over a day and I'm knackd. I will still be winging it in 2 lectures tomorrow. One won't be so bad, I know it, just haven't taught it for a while. The other, hmm well - I may be reading off the slides more than I would normally. They will have the info - it might not be as interesting as I would normally try to make it. I will make bloomin sure I get that time back one way or another, having to do that on such a glorious day. Still, I don't have to do it often and I do sometimes have to do "proper" work - it ain't all foreign jaunts, you know
Time for my bed I reckon and well earned it is too.
THanks for keeping me going today

On a mission today. Both DD's ate the crusts off a tiger loaf. That is major in our house and as I'm concerned that eldest is too thin, I want to try to make my own tiger loaves. I've read it's about sesame oil so keen to get a batch knocked up when have ingredients list
Also going to knock up some 'radiator' yoghurt with the dregs of shop bought yoghurt as a starter. The kids like it over strawberries and drizzled with honey.
Making hm spagbol and garlic bread for tea.
Kids are making carrier bag kites for when its windy so lots of sticking.
Nothing left in my freezer of the processed kind apart from fish fingers. I'm tired of the jokes too. For me , it's just not funny. Being treat for a fool is never funny for people who have been duped.
Going with my new friend to the park today, she has a baby so I get to go all goooeee
Have a lovely day everyone.0 -
Morning all - it's half term here and we do not have to rush all over the place - marvellous! :j
The sun is nearly out and I have bedding nearly washed, hoping to have some stuff on the line for a change. Tons of washing/ironing to get through this week, but at least we've time now.
DD has been loaned the money to stave off eviction, I'm so not happy, but could we really have let it happen? However, she hasn't actually said thank you yet, there are still begging letters coming here for her re debts, so expecting more dark times!:( When I finish my job we'll have no money to lend, as every penny will be begging for mercy! :rotfl:
I have discovered that my current brand/strength of ADs do NOT mix with alcohol - had no idea when I went out for a meal on Saturday. I had 2 big glasses of wine, one small of champagne (sounds flash but wasn't!), felt a tad tipsy but ok. Well, come the wee small hours I was so ill, felt like I'd drunk the place dry! Lost the whole of Sunday as I felt so bad. Other weird things, too, and upon reading the notes, the current pills say do NOT drink alcohol - now I know why!! Previous pills made no mention of it, so assumed it was ok - never again!
Feel like a right moaner, sorry peeps!
