Morning all! The sun is out again but i very much doubt there is any warmth in it. Looks nice and cheery though.
CHeapskate i hope you feel better now? I would have thought the chemist or the doctor would have mentioned the dont drink alcohol thing so you arent moaning at all.
My tin opener wont open those fb pies. The lip on the tin is too deep for it and i have tried several now. Really annoying as we all like them.
I love reading about nursie and her antics:rotfl: Should we send the SAS after her? Or would they end up locked in a cupboard along with the rugby team?0 -
Bless you pet, I'm a lucky woman and have so much in my life that is fun and warm and loved (yes I am speaking lurcher here!) I rarely have dark moments and if I do I just look round me and think come on girl get your head in order and be grateful you are being wet!!!! You are all my friends, you don't owe me a single thing, you make my life fuller and warmer by being a part of it so if anyone owes, it's me!!! Have yourself a really lovely day, me, I'm away off to Mr.M on the bus to see if I can get some nice bacon pieces such an exciting life I live, yes? Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Cheaps, I wouldn't want to see my two face eviction and would have helped too but only once. Hopefully DD would have gotten a shock and learned that roof over head money is the most important and comes first.
It is nice not having to do the school run... Although annoying how school days I have to drag my two out of bed and today they were up and awake at 6.30!0 -
Morning all
Had a lovely visit with DD1 yesterday, she took us to a very dodgy looking cheap noodle bar for lunch but it was great. You picked your combination and it was cooked fresh in front of you. I should have realised it would be good when all of the customers apart from us were Asian. Later she cooked tea for us in a surprisingly sparkling student kitchen. The only horror was the microwave and I have shown her how to steam clean it with a mug of hot water.
I am now on leave for a week before starting my new job, my last shift with my previous boss was over two weeks ago before she went on leave. I made a point of telling her it was our last shift working together and was not unduly surprised when I did not get a goodbye or thank you from her. Have had a text from her this morning asking me to go and see her next week to hand over. I sent her a handover email and let some notes on her desk. it just goes to prov she did not listen to me. I am not asking for time out on my induction to hand over to her as I don't think it would look good.
Off to the dentist to have the temp filling removed and a permanent one put in this morning. That will wave goodbye to £50 that we really do not have spare. On the up side it is only a filling so there is no need for nursie to call in here on her way out of the country.
The sun is out here as well so will get the washing out on the line before I go to the dentist. Noticed that the Winter Rises that self seeded in the front border have got buds on them this year and the daffs are coming up nicely.
wcs glad to see you back, hope RL sorts itself out for you soon.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

I had an email to say that my referee had submitted a reference for my university application. I have paid my £12 registration fee through UCAS and can officially say that I am thrilled that I have applied for a university place on BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Learning Disability)
I'm very excited but very nervous that I may not be good enough or that I'm too old compared to the young kids out there. I feel I'm relying on my work experience and psychology OU units, my NNEB qualification was years ago and hardly as flashy as A levels (although equivalent of 2 A Levels) its out dated. Right doubts are creeping in, I'm shutting up... I can do this!0 -
Yes you CAN do it fuddle - your experience will set you apart from the young 'uns, so what if your NNEB is a while ago? Well done hun, fingers crossed you get a place!

Yey, sunshine! Isn't it great. The trees over the back fence have buds on too. Not very warm but the sunlight cheers up everything (even me :rotfl:)
The birds have hardly touched their feeders the last few days which is good as i've ran out of nuts and fat balls and am to skint to buy any more. They still have seed, suet blocks and pellets and mealworms though. (I stock up in summer when they are cheep)
Today is officially the first day of my rest week (had the last week off sick) and hopefully this sunshine will motivate me to clean up a bit. First off though I need to go to PO and post a couple of Ebay bits (decluttering I suppose) and take the pooches for a walk!
Hope everyone has a good day and some sunshine!0 -

Probably these were a darn sight harder and covered more ground than current A levels. Plus RL has taught you value of so much more than theory. Young kids have disadvantages too, they might not be able to cope emotionally, be able to prioritise, blindly follow instructions but not think if it is reasonable ....

Morning all! A reasonably lovely day here today. My lettuce, spinach, radish and a few tomatoes are up! I am so pleased:DJust need to keep everything going now when it turns colder this week.
DH and me went out cycling yesterday, only 10 miles but ooooh my knees were really stiff afterwards and I had to recover in muscle soak bath and go to bed early:rotfl::rotfl: I think I need more practice. It's all very well but my bones are just not used to it. I will swim 30 lengths or so tomorrow night, so that shoud ease things up a bit. All part of our getting fitter campaign this year. Not a New Year resolution, just a decision that we need to both try and get a bit healthier.
Our DS2 ran 13 miles for charity yesterday, it took him an hour and a half, but it took us 2 hours to cycle only 10 miles. What it is to be young and fit!
We are off to the cinema tonight on a couple of free tickets, so a bit of a treat. My only hope is that we don't get parked behind someone with a tray full of hotd*gs, nach*s or bucket of popcorn, because we are both still on the 5*2 diet and today is our 'fast' day. It would just be our luck:p When we went a couple of weeks ago, we did sit behind someone with a lap full of goodies and we went home like a couple of ravenous donkeys. A cup of Marig*ld Bouill*n doesn't really cut it when you are that hungry:D
(((hugs))) as always to those who need them. Have a nice day everyone!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin
