Morning all.
Kidcat have some (((hugs))) and a thank you from me for all that you are doing to support your family and the medical staff. I'm glad your cousin made it back in time.
Lots of much needed housework was done yesterday and more to be done today but house is much improved. I have finally found a home for my childrens collection of megabloks so they are being packed up this morning. I really must finish knitting the border of a baby blanket for my newest cousin though so i can move onto finishing one for my sister....and a cardigan for my youngest.
At least the sun is shining and i can put some more laundry on the line to dry instead of cluttering my kitchen with clothes horses.0 -
It's cold here but no bad weather, and very little wind even though it is forecast. Be tough today, Toughies!0

There's obviously something in the air that sets people off wanting ginger cordial
http://down---to---earth.blogspot.co.uk/
And Elaine over at Mortgage Free in Three mentioned on her forum she was going to get some ginger to make cordial
Remember folks, you read it here first
Has anyone else tried it? Any suggestions? As I mentioned, I think it needed more ginger and possibly using two lemons. But it's still very good value compared to Belvoir (somehow, with tastes like that, I just know DD1 is never going to be rich!)It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Morning toughies, hope you're all safe and warm, or wrapped up if you have to be outside!
It was blowing a gale here last night, too, slight dusting of snow and wind's dropped for now.
((hugs)) to kidcat and family, like the others have said, look after you too, hope your uncle has a peaceful passing with his family round him if it's his time.
Staying home today, apart from a doctor's appt, I'm starting to slide downhill mentally as the house is even worse than normal - so got to do something so I can tell doc I'm trying! :rotfl:

Forecast was for sunny spells here - well the sunny spells seem to be pure white and fluffy things that are pouring from the sky. Wind is picking up and the street that my husband shovelled clear at 7am is now needing shovelled again!
According to the Met Office we have a "feels-like" temp of -11.0 -
Morning toughies, we have a windy day here but the sun is peaking through. I expect in a well shaded area it would be very nice. Trying to make a load of washing as its such a nice day, and just found out someone has wiped toothpaste on a bathsheet.
So far ive hard boiled some eggs for my sandwiches for tea tonight and for OH tomorrow. Ive prepared tea for them, its fried leftovers from yesterday - potatoes carrots and brocholli. Looks strange but tatses great!! and some YS cheese and ham kievs from the freezer.
Now for the dilemma..... OH family are a bit different. His dad has not spoken to us for over 10 years, he blames him for him having to get married so young as his mum was pregnant with him - row happened and that was it. Now his sister has invited us to a party in the summer but has failed to invite the other 2 brothers after they claimed her husband was a lazy fat person... Now i have never had much to do with any of them but yesterday one of the brothers called and yelled at me down the phone because we have an invite and they dont ,its a bit annoying. The fact that they havent and wont stick up for us infront of their dad is a different matter according to them. Just angry at the double standards, they think his dads behaviour is acceptable. He goes to the salon my daughter works at, and if she is on the shop floor he asks for them to get rid of 'IT'. Her boss is going to ask him to leave if he comes back in. Why is he so damh nasty???? Its upsetting because im going to be drawn in to an argument by doing nothing.
Sorry but this is all too much today, OH says dont worry. But i am and i do. We have never told them about the house being repossessed or the BR, far to personal. They just think we moved to be nearer the girls school and for my mum to look after them while i worked.
Take care everyone xBSC member 137

I don't have any bright suggestions I'm afraid Nuttyp, but I just wanted to pop in and give you a *hug* because you need it.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

NUTTY P it's a bit of a dilemma for you, but why the brother should be nagging you because you have been invited and he hasn't or what you could do about it is a mistery!!! If you can avoid being drawn in to the debate it would be much better for you, if you don't say anything to anyone you can't then have it thrown back at you later I have learned over the years. What I would be asking myself if I were you is do I really want the hassle of being part of such a disfunctional family after all the years of no contact, or would it be better for me and my family to politely decline the invite and keep low profile for a while. If OHs father is so anti him and your daughter would it be more trouble than it is worth to go? It's a different debate altogether if you and OH feel you would like to pick up that part of the family again, only you can decide, Hope that helps, Cheers Lyn xxx.0

Nuttyp, I know its easier said than done but ignore them. If people want to be nasty don't give them the satisfaction of seeing their behaviour raises your blood pressure. Once they see they don't have an audience they generally move on.
Well I had a call from the hospital about my arthritis appointment. They had a cancellation and guess what it clashes with my interview . Not fair but there's no way I can move my interviewCC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Thanks softstuff and mrs lurchwalker and unixgirls !!! I havent really spoken to his parent or his 2 brothers for years. His sister has always kept in touch every few months, and as my daughter does her nails every 2 weeks (lucky!!) she said it would nice to catch up. hen a few days later this all happens. I think OH will have to go on his own, i know my daughter will probably go as she has asked her boss too, they are both on a school committee. All complicated. I learnt years ago whatever we did would be wrong, and so far we have been lol.
My mum says you can pick your friends but not your familes.... How true.BSC member 137
