Its snowing here now, and very very cold again , its been nice today sunshine all day , managed to get the sheets and duvets dry on the line.......
Just see on the news that they have found more horse meat in Ireland, reporter said going into cheap brand burgers for Asda, Aldi, and 2 other other stores have took their cheap burgers from sale, I knew it wasnt just Tesco that used horse meat, cos its a cheap substitute for beef, I expect this has been going on for years , god knows what we eat, thank god I always buy Birds Eye if we are going to eat burgers......Which is probaly once every 2 months.......
But right now I feel put off with buying any brand..................Right now I dont even trust Birds Eye........
I hope your all keeping warm as these temperatures are set to stay with us all this week......

just bobbing on briefly tonight. I have lots of crochet to be getting on with.
You are all offering each other so much love and support and I love it. I know so many people are going through extremely difficult times right now and to see so much help being given gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, similar to when I see my girls helping each other with homework without being asked, or when I go to kiss them goodnight and they're snuggled up together in the top bunk!! keep it up because I have a feeling that it's going to take a long time before things get easier
Kidcat, I'm so pleased that you're managing to spend time with your uncle and for everyones sake now I hope it's a speedy and peaceful death x (I so hope that didn't sound callous!)
stiltwalker, I'm sure you're very proud of your amazing children. I hope you're feeling proud of yourself too, you're doing an amazing job as a mummy x
unixgirl, best of luck for your interviews x
i don't think i could let such an obvious benefit cheat get away with it!
It snowed heavily all day here, but onto very wet ground so we were all disappointed that all we ended up with was nasty grey slush.
DH had a phonecall yesterday morning and rushed round to check on his auntie who a neighbour had found unable to get out of bed (she'd gone round to check after not seeing her for a couple of days). She hadn't been able to get up for over 24 hours and was rushed to a&e with a severe athma attack only to find out it was in fact a heart attack. we're waiting on news now.
I think I'm going to buy a lottery ticket this weekend. we're long overdue some happy news!!
hugs to everyone i haven't mentioned as you all deserve one x, i always struggle to remember who i wanted to respond to and haven't 'got' the multiquote yet.freecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -

Excellent post - since I keep reading your name as Shergar :rotfl:Normal people worry me.0 -
Evening all.
((((nuttyp)))) your OH's family.........grrrr!........it's amazing what some people consider to be acceptable behaviour. If they weren't related, you'd just walk off, wouldn't you?
I'd be tempted to find a pressing engagement/ vomiting illness which just happened to co-incide with the party and stay well out of it, but that's just my two'pennorth. Take care of yourself whatever happens and remember; you can choose your friends but you can't kill your relatives.Umm, I may be misquoting that last bit. Some parts of my family have been sulking with other parts since the mid-seventies. The world still turns.
Unix, what can I say? There's a helluva lot of it goes on. I could stick my nose out of the door and look at several flats which are tenanted but unlived-in. Country-wide, there must be tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of these p-takers.
It annoys me on two grounds; the taking of a scarce resource badly-needed by others (a house or a flat) and the taking of the money to pay for it. I know housing officers spend an awful lot of time trying to catch them, but resources are scarce and we don't live in a police state and it's very hard to catch wrong'uns who abuse the system.
And, as monnagran says, there are others who are left homeless, destitute and starving...............:(
We have had a smattering of snow today but it isn't settling but I feel a childish excitement about what might be waiting, snow-wise, when I open the curtains tomorrow.
Right, need more tea. Nurrrrsssseeee!!!!!!!!!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Just a quick posting before I go out for my weekly music night.
I had to raid the piggy bank for extra funds for that as it has been too cold and windy to ride the trike down to a cashpoint.
I made my own tortillas for the first time this evening - I used some YS OOD bread flour with seeds to see if it was OK, it appears to have been. Had the tortillas in a stack with Quorn mince and Aldi's hot chilli sauce in a jar. DS enjoyed them and I was quite keen too but will just use plain flour with baking powder next time .
It's been ages since I did something 'for the first time', I have a huge bank of recipes built up over the years. It was nice to try something new.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
LISA thank you for that oh so comforting image of your two littlies so in tune with each other that they snuggle up in the same bunk bed, whatever else is happening in the world that is sad and distressing, that is the normality and warmth and love that families know and Mums appreciate, bless you, that has made my day, Love Lyn xxx.0

Evening toughies, its been a hard hard day today, we got a call at 6.30 to get to hospital quickly, at that time it was snowing heavily so quickly was more of a crawl. It was awful, he was in alot of pain and very agitated, it was so upsetting, my mum, uncle and cousin were all so upset they went to calm a bit leaving me with his ex-wife to control him, he was trying to get out of bed, remove his wires etc.
Finally they gave him something to calm him and he settled, the doctor promised the drugs would keep him settled all day while we waited for the palliative team to up his IV drugs enough - but ten minutes later he was struggling again and they had to give him more.
Finally settled and we left his daughter and exwife to sit with him while we went to buy a coffee - meantime palliative lady arrives and says he only has minutes left so we all race back.
Seven hours later he finally passed and is at peace.0 -
Take care Kidcat x0
