I did once upon a time (I think I have 2 actually), but they're buried somewhere. I used to steam fish and veg and once a Xmas Pud, but unfortunately that was about it; I do remember steaming some red cabbage in mine one Xmas amd forgetting to empty the liquid bowl at the bottom. There was purple liquid pouring all over the work top and down the front of the drier when I finally noticed it:o

Fuddle - I always work on the theory that any dog can attack anyone given the right set of circumstances, as such the kids and dog are supervised. My kids all know not to touch a strange dog without my permisssion and then the owners permission.
I never allow my kids to stroke a dog even with the owners permission that I have not already stroked either.
Thats not about responsible dog ownership, its about responsible parenting, if she does complain or in the event she contacts you, I suggest you report her for poor parenting :)

Byatt - yes I use an electric steamer, mainly for rice to be honest and when I am doing lots of different veg, otherwise I just my electric one.

Am so cross, my mother has taken a huff and to be honest I just dont need it. I think (assume) that my cousin has told her that we have made travel plans to go to sort my uncles stuff next week. She will be hopping mad as she wanted to go herself (she doesnt drive) and be the centre of attention with all the cousins etc over there.
Being centre of attention is how she deals with any difficult situation and to be honest I am not in the right place to deal with it at the moment.

My cousin needs support and actual help ie driving etc rather than having to prop my mother up.

Its been a rough week and I am close to breaking point, I had hoped she could be a grown up over this. Of course she is now calling everyone telling them how incapable I am of managing this and how I am neglecting my kids to go.

Sorry for the whinge but I just needed to write it down I think.

Just popped back to see what's happening.

Fuddle: Stop worrying NOW. Stupid woman. What was she playing at?
I bet if she had a painful corn or bunion and she said to one of your children, "Don't get near my feet," but they trod on her toe anyway and she went through the roof with pain, do you think that she would have smiled sweetly and patiently put up with it while they went on trampling over her toes? Of course not.
I wish I lived up there, I'd go and have a snap at her myself.
