Mar the Aldi vouchers are usually in the Mirror, or I think the Record in Scotland? Someone please correct me if that last bit is wrong. As well as the £5 voucher there are always other vouchers to get certain products half price or at least discounted. I'm waiting for the lamb shanks to be half price again as they were completely delicious.

Keep going Fuddle you'll be so proud when you go to bed tonight that you made it through a whole day. You'll even be able to ignore your growling tummy.

As to celebs - I upset some chap I was introduced to by not knowing who he was. Turns out he was a author. Well, how is one expected to recognise an author? I'd never heard of him anyway, much less read any of his books. Stupid man.

Off to indulge in a black coffee.

And if you are doing a big stock up it's worth getting 2 and splitting your shop.

You have to give the till operator the half price voucher with the thing you are buying - they have an odd system. If you give them the vouchers at the end when you are paying they have to void each individual item and put it through again at the discounted price. (The £5 off voucher is fine to hand over at the end) So what people do in our Aldi is put the voucher on top of the item as it goes down the conveyor belt. Might be interesting tomorrow as the tills are very close to the entrance and if it's as windy as forecast it will be a right confetti storm LOL
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Two things make scones like bricks. Too much liquid and overworking the dough. Use a knife to cut in the liquid and work quickly to pull it all together then dump on a board or work surface then gently roll or pat to the thickness needed.Only use the exact amount of liquid stated and if the dough is very wet use less next time, making a note of how much you used. I use wholemeal so always need a little more liquid than recipes state because it is nearly always white flour they use.

My pet rant is that all the money wasted on the dome could have given us a state of the art railway system that was the envy of the world. What use is the dome now if it is even still there?

the dome is now the 02 stadium, a top music venue.

possession is right, the vouchers are in the mirror in the uk. Scotland i have no idea im afraid.

Have made sausage casserole with mixed froze veg in the slow cooker. Potatoes are ready in the saucepan, just need cooking. I am at work for this evening, so no hot tea for me. I have however left a plastic tub for the leftovers to be put in for my tea another night at work.

I took my mumto tescO this morning, only 2 chechouts open and major queues. Was very annoyed as there was 3 people who worked there chatting in an isle. Needless to say i think i will avoid the moning run infuture. Mum took her dys0n i to be mended, the man put a replacement belt on for £4. So shes ahappy bunny. He sell reconditioned ones for under £60, and they are guarenteed. If they go wrong after, you just pay for the part. Nice man.

Right must pack the sandwiches for my tea, and yoghurt for afters.

    Have a ncie day everyone.

DH still has not sorted his pay issue out. I cannot possible be expected to pass for a Mr anything on the phone so I cannot do this. How blinking complicated can it be - phone up state issue, converse resolve or complain and up the scales you go.

Stair carpet has tried to kill me again (duck tape on more steps than not, and even that is not quite holding the carpet together in places) so £400 for that after quote last night. Which is not bad but I am struggling with where DH is going to get his share from and therefore how I can make this up. And all he is saying is - well he isn't. :o

I need a boot up the bum to get back to the gym, I need to eat less cake (and really DH needs to bake less flipping cake)

I need to be happier. Blue, cold, fed up and comfort munching - this is a bad combination.:eek:

OK someone tell me to get a grip. :(

Majorly upset. Alfie has an ear infection. I know this because he's scratching his ear like mad. He gets them a lot what with having beagle long floppy ears. I used the drops from the vets from the last time this morning. I took him out for a walk just now, same as always but this time a little girl came running up to us wanting to stroke him. I asked her not to but she still did it, I called over to her mam to get her to stop but when doing so Alfie growled and snapped at the little girl. She was stroking his sore ear. He didn't bite her, just warning warning the little girl that it hurts but the little girl got a shock and ran back to her mam saying the nasty doggy tried to bite her. The mam was so angry and has asked for my address and to expect a call from the authorities. What the heck do I do? I

I feel so upset and sick to my stomach that he would even snipe at a child.. I have two myself and if I suspected for one minute he would hurt them well I'm afraid to say he would be going back to dogstrust. I don't want to lose Alfie but I don't want him posing a risk to people either. He's a dog right? It was hurting him, he warned the girl. It's what dogs do. If only the little girl hadn't been allowed to stroke a strangers dog!

DH is mortified that he would do such a thing but I'm extremely nervous about having Alfie round by the girls now. They adore him and cuddle him so much. If his ear is feeling poorly before I know about it or pick up on the signs what is to stop him going for the kids?

Dogs and children. There's no answer other than the parents responsibility. Don't know what to do. All I know is that I will NOT let him be persecuted for this. He did what any dog would do and that girl should not be allowed to stroke a strange dog but I don't know if I can trust him round my own girls.
  • Sorry i haven't been back since my first postings the other day, i somehow injured my back and can't work out what i did or how i did it, i couldn't stand or sit for more than 2-3 minutes at a time the only way i could cope with the pain was to lie flat on my back so have been in bed for days its feeling a little better now but still hurts.
As someone who is naturally warm blooded i rarely use a hot water bottle except for pain relief so thought i'd try a hot water bottle and it didn't go to plan :o firstly i didn't check said hot water bottle hadn't perished and secondly i filled it with boiling water (naughty i know) and as i was putting the kettle down i heard running water looked down and there was a stream of water gushing out of the bottom of the hot water bottle :eek:luckily it was still over the sink i dread to think what would have happened if the rubber had held out a few more minutes  so please folks check your hot water bottles before you use them
