I have to admit I feel a little out of control with these slim line, teeny tiny excuses (however lovely and appreciated they are) of kitchen cupboards I have. Today for instance, I needed passata. I knew I had some in the cupboard but the thought of emptying through the masses to check filled me with dread... so I spent 65p and bought another. I need to get to grips with it :o

Been there and done it. I need to rearrange my food store. The idea of a list appeals but the easiest way for me is to move older stuff to the front and in my plastic crates, have a couple with the items that are getting a bit dated or passed their best before dates. But the other day I was eating Mr Kipling and Kitkats with dates between 6-12 months...they were fine...

Hope Alfie is soon well and nothing comes of it...

Over 50 years ago I was bitten by a dog my gran had I remember nothing nor what happened and never asked about it, wish I had...too late now as Mum, Dad and Gran are no longer around.

Luckily no disfigurement or scares but I was bitten on my top lip!

Having mentioned a story about not wasting food, there is another about what we supposedly worry over...

Are we as shallow as some of these worries are said to be?

erm :o I worry a stupid amount of the time over stupid things like you all hadn't guessed :o

    1. My stomach/ being overweight - worry no, concerned for my health yes

    2. Getting old in general - just about failing joints and not being able to work till retirement age

    3. Worried about my savings/ financial future - yes, I need stability in my life. Housing is my main issue

    4. My overall fitness - I don't worry about it but know it could be better

    5. Other financial debts - I no longer have debts but debt worry is absolutely horrible

    6. Low energy levels - i don't worry, just get on and do it.

    7. Credit card debt - not allowed any credit cards

    8. Paying rent/mortgage - no, that and the council tax are paid first and foremost

    9. Job security - worry about DH's job security

    10. My diet - yes, I eat too much although balanced and nutritious.

    11. Keeping the house clean - don't worry, just do it

    12. Finding a new job - I'm not worried, it's a challenge and something will come up

    13. Worried about my sex life - don't worry

    14. I seem to be generally unhappy - don't worry about being unhappy. Anti D's helped me out. I get narked at myself when having a down day.

    15. Wrinkles or aging appearance - nope, I accept who I am and natural all the way

    16. Whether or not I am attractive - nope, not an issue I worry about

    17. Worried about my physique - big boobed, shortie with tree trunk legs. Came to terms long ago

    18. Meeting work targets or goals - I never ever let work worry me at home.

    19. Whether my partner still loves me - don't worry about it. What will be will be

    20. Whether I'll find the right partner/ whether my current partner right - doesn't enter my head.

Well for an out and out worrier I reckon that piece is rubbish. I worry about so much stuff but much of that above isn't it.

My pantry and the food store in my garage are, I admit, in an awful state. I need to take note of what's there and in the freezers and not buy more.

Dh has booked an appointment for tomorrow. He's going to take him because it's obviously hurting him.

I'm kicking myself Kate because I'm timid and should I have been more forceful in asking the girl to stop then it most probably wouldn't have happened.

Oh, daily lives. Never blummin' dull!

Perhaps I missed it in your original post, but was your dog on a lead..?....And if the childs mother would report you id expect it to be the police for first port of call............Sheila
  • I don't worry about things like that, I'm 65 and I know I'm meant to have wrinkles and greying hair. I find it hilariously funny that people try every which way to stave off what is going to happen naturally anyway. The difference is I still have my cash in the bank and not in lotions and potions in the bathroom!! The house is clean and tidyish to our liking, it wouldn't feature in good housekeeping but it's comfy. I don't mind getting older, I always thought 50 upwards would be more comfortable and I wasn't wrong.Savings, enough for our needs, rent /mortgage Paid off when we were made redundant. Credit Card Debts paid off every month but then we don't put very much on it in the first place.Jobs/work targets, retirement is very, very nice! Does He Who Knows still love me - Do I still love him? well, we're still speaking and still here together so I guess the answer must be yes. I don't seem to be generally unhappy and I think that is because we both sing from the same hymnsheet and are satisfied with the life we have had and still have. We enjoy simple things, the lurcher, the garden and allotment, the pub quiz, our lovely girls, living in a nice friendly village, having a bus pass (underrated by many!), making our own cider each year and sharing it with our friends, uncomplicated not very exciting to many peoples standards but oh so nice!!! Cheers Lyn xxx.

:- Poor Alfie what a day you have both had. Stupid irresponsible woman, should have had more sense than let her daughter stroke a strange dog. :(

Kidcat:- It's hard but you will just have to say to your Mum 'You are not the most important person here' You are so good at helping others her attitude towards you makes me mad!

Alfie is always on a lead. We cannot let him off as the beagle in him would just run, chase, run and we'll lose him. So yeah, he was on a lead.
